I Have been Rapping for about a year

tips on how to become a better rapper

welcome to IL... drop a verse in scriptures and then go n vote on some battles drop some poems in distilled concepts if ur a poet, check out some beats in the producer section, check out illest audio n have fun man!

Like I aint too into the Gangsta Rap catergory
i more like Funny rap,Punches and shit like that
But yeh I was wondering Can you get somewhere without gangsta Rap
these dudes down near where i live go "you only need gangsta rap to be a rapper"???

Welcome To The Site Man, And as Far As The Whole Gangster Rap Thing Goes, It's Bullshit, i Don't know what folks have been telling you, but do ya own thang, no matter if it's gangasta rap, counrty rap, beating on a small child rap, anything man, just bring it lol.

well truthfully if you're trying to make it big, a lil gangsta rap wont hurt you at all...but, i myself only listen to real gangstas that rap, but that is not at all true about being a gangsta rapper, for instance, look at lupe fiasco, one of the biggest new rappers, you can even look at rick ross, he mainly raps about being a dope boy, but with tha lil bit of gangsta appeal, he still attracts a broader audience...but idk man, keep doing your thing, i think its always best to be original and be yourself, that way your lyrics are better, its a well known fact...
