The Wu Tang Clan will be working together on their fifth studio album '8 Diagrams' slated for a Summer release under the SRC umbrella. Steve Rifkind housed The Wu when they erupted onto the Hip-Hop scene with Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers) on the Loud label back in 1993. The album will be the first project that the Wu have worked on since the passing of Ol Dirty Bastard back in 2004.
Talking exclusively with The RZA yesterday he had this to say on the project,"You know I told Steve it isn't going to cost a lot of money to do it, I ain't even about the dollar, this is about what we stand for and what we mean to this world."
Talking with Steve Rifkind late last year he explained that he had hopes of reclaiming the Loud name, a brand that played a huge role in Hip-Hop culture through the nineties as well as launching the career of the nine rappers who made up The Wu Tang Clan. "It's looking like 60/40 right now," when asked how close he was to recovering the name. The title for the album in true Wu Tang style comes from a Kung Fu epic.
