Very much so. I suppose a personal quirk that I've identified in my mind is the compulsive habit of considering every possible outcome and eventuality for times to come and times already passed. Memories to be made and memories that I've laid to rest in the scrap book of my mind. I realize , as I grow older, that things look very different when you look up into the eyes of those that birthed you than they do when you look straight into them, and eventually down. "It's all a part of life" seems like so much mumbo jumbo, at times, but at others, it becomes a crutch to support me when thoughts of better happenings fall on me in such a way that I'm left crippled and groping for that last scrap of dignity I need to wipe my face off and see what I have around me. Some points in life herald the coming of visions of a gray and bleak future, featureless and soundless except for my unsure breathing and strange heartbeat. To admit to these weaknesses is to admit just how human one is. To reject the comfort of vanity, and to stare into the pit of our hearts and relish the pain. Keep the food for thought coming, friend. In this day and age, too many minds are going hungry.
