Hip Hop... An Illest Collab

Post by FlipSide »

Jack Da Rippa

What influences me? It's the jewelry, fresh kicks & tees
When you contest spits & frees in the midst of peeps, thats the best shit to me
But the rest is history, coz shits changed, the pickens of rap is shit
Niggas, I just laugh & wish coz the past is missed & now I dont listen to half of it
Every track is skipped so now my music's old, they take a lifestyle and use it cold
But if the truth was told, we'd care more abou the message than how many units sold
I remember the beat box kids and how the streets watched this...they'd work a tight free
So go ahead and commercialize rap coz thats what our commercial-eyes see
I'll pit all these against Kweli, coz if Lil wayne is dope, I aint the best to sit by
I'd rather mess wit tha BIG guy, So go ahead and save hip hop, I'd rather let the bitch die

Illaborate

I walked into the club, and threw up, couldn't tell if it was the booze or the music/
I ran into a thug, that blew up, if he tells me he's an artist swear to god that I'll lose it//

See...

It might be hard to believe, but my mom was a "G"/
Picture me, hearin more pac in my house then I did in the streets/.

So basically...

Music became a part of me, hip hop hit me hard and deep/
Head movin tappin' feet, the beat, traced back to the heart in me//

Its probably...

The reason I scan thru the radio lookin for real lyrics/
They plant the messege deep, make it hard to forget it//

I can hear 'em...

Making music with more than a body, they push a soul thru the pen tip/
Hip hop is a form of art; an expression... it can't bought out with money...

So... don't stress it.

QwarterZ

Drum to the bass as words to the sympathizer
many would improvise ya, bass to the synthesizer
back to the corner as the words blast from a speaker
the speaker, to the sneakers, kick it to the preacher
let his soul reach ya, his expression be the teacher
Rakim said follow the leader, Public Enemy fought the power
the tapes bought got the tower, as it rocked for hours
batteries tossed and showered, I'm not empowered
see Hip Hop is my life, I cannot give off it's price
it's valuable to my soul and it always in thought at night

Deciple

Hip Hop nowa days i stay away cuz i wont let me faith
get corrupted by the garbage that i hear up on the radio

pray to go and now i know im on a mission
to obtain the name that i have raised as a christian

To take hip hop and flip it with there own beat
put a message in my lyrics take it to my own streets

my music is God given gift that i proudly receive
its like STD's like HIV its spreading around like a disease

So think what you want bout the music i make
im sticking to my music and im sticking to my faith

Eminent

Heads or tails the games changed like a double sided coin/ Cause it's just repetative beats over words in clubs I don't care to join//

It's so annoying telling people to jump and get crunk/ Clamin all thier SHIT'S hot, when it's just a cold front//

The key word is "SHIT" modern abuse to the music/ it's only amusing to the youth and groups of stupid//

Money, Chains, Rims... my soul can't be sold to the devil/ I love REAL Hip Hop I'll never sink to that level//

Big ups to the classics, The roots and Jurassic, Strange famous, Rhymesayers and Mac Lethal/ The radio would play 'em if Intelligence was LEGAL!

Shady 08

I'm done with the chatter Hip hop made my life better
Blown and scatter'd away the clouds, cleared the weather
It put a ladder under my feet, hip hop raised me
made me shine it blazed me, there were some rappers that amazed me
Tupac dazed me, Eminem raised me along side Biggie Smalls
They gave me balls, when i was scared, tared down the walls
When i wasn't prepared their music made me stand on my feet
I used to laugh away the tears and shit, when they were killin' the beat
That's it, i'm willin' to commit to it and try to do it
They made hip hop my life, cuz they put life into it!

FlipSide

The death of a child is the conception of man
Expressions At hand With a Pen N A Pad
Blown From The Hash But My Saviors Back
Microphone Jacked' My Spinal Cord's Tapped
A Reason Ta Breath When My Lirics Is Freed
No Need For A Beat The Kid Follows Tha Creed
Love For The Need Like A Habit Ta Pheen
Its Nothing Ta Speak But My Rappin Is Keen
Took Over My Being And Now I Could See
Would Call You My Bitch But You Are My Queen

This is the truth and everyone knows it. Unfortunately shit does not seem to be improving.

[I can relate to so much of that. Very astute observations and rhyming. Everything after that bar was still good, but the above lines were the highlight of the verse.]

[Keeping the same atmosphere by using the street lexicon (beat box kids, tight free, peeps, kicks), also worked in this verses favor. Felt like the most serious of the five verses. Hard to follow though.]

[The story on this was great, I liked the truth behind your message, even if it lacked any truly great wordplay.]

[Nothing less than I'd expect from Quarter. Really his standard verse.]

[Very nice line.]

my music is God given gift that i proudly receive
its like STD's like HIV its spreading around like a disease

So think what you want bout the music i make
im sticking to my music and im sticking to my faith

[Articulate, but maybe unmemorable.]

[Finish that bar correctly.]

[The shoutouts really elevated this verse.]

[Biter]

FlipSide

The death of a child is the conception of man
Expressions At hand With a Pen N A Pad
Blown From The Hash But My Saviors Back
Microphone Jacked' My Spinal Cord's Tapped

No Need For A Beat The Kid Follows Tha Creed
Love For The Need Like A Habit Ta Pheen
Its Nothing Ta Speak But My Rappin Is Keen

[Not my favorite verse from someone who clearly has unlimited potential.]
