How do ya'll go about constructing a verse or a track?
I've got a few different methods
Sometimes a dope line'll hit me randomly while I'm doing shit not even related to hip-hop and i'll type it up on my cell's memo pad, and when i get home later or get to my computer or notebook, i'll construct a verse just based off of that one line
Another thing that I do alot is i'll be listening to a beat and i'll get a specific vibe from it or a melody in the hook that makes me come up for lyrics for the hook and i structure the verses around the hook
Probably the most common thing i do is while listening to abstract hip hop or rock i'll hear a line and i'll write a whole verse on the topic/meaning of the line
I try as much as i can to apply at least one thing in my verses that people can relate to, i mean wordplay and punchlines are cool to listen to but the material isn't going to stick in someones head as much as something they can relate to, most of the shit i write about is drawn from real life experiences, whether my own or someone elses, i exagerrate some shit and make the lyrics not too descriptive so that people who hear it won't really recognize what i'm talking about but it will sound familiar, kinda a form of subliminal messaging
I always write to a beat, and nothing i write ever takes me more than 10 minutes once i get in a creative mode i lay shit down like nothing, sometimes i'll get tired of the beat i wrote the track to and i'll switch to another with a similar bpm
I also don't ever think of a specific rhyme scheme i wanna use, even rappers that use alot of multis but don't switch it up much bore me so i like to make my schemes unpredictable and unique
For some odd reason i don't like recording old material, even if its only a week old i like to lay something down right after i write it and i don't typically do more than 5 takes cause the further away from creation the harder it is to get into the same mood as when i wrote it

Snatched away from you because its my night

Sometimes I get a good line in my head.
Which is continued by up to about four bars.
Most the time its at random times.
Then I come home and complete it.
I write a lot about world events, history, politics etc.
A lot of times I'll do some reading before writing a verse.
Then let that all digest. Then make a verse surrounding that.
Sometimes I'll think of a good concept. Jot down what
I'd like to accomplish in the verse. Maybe put down
some wordplay I thought of that goes along with
the verse. Then start writiing it and fit it in where
necesssary.
Then of course just plain freeestyle. Which never takes
moe then then ten minutes.
The most I spend on a written verse is twenty minutes.
I can't stand going back to a verse later either.
I've heard some rappers will write the first verse for
a song then write the second a few weeks later.
I could "never" do that.
Sixty percent of the time in my experience. I don't
write on a beat. Which has been kinda a nightmare
attemping to get use to it. Thats also because
when I freestyle in real life, when we did on palace,
and text battling. None really require a beat. So
I just didnt.

sometimes i dream weird shit and i write about that too
writing to a beat is a necessity, even if you don't use the beat at least you'll have it wrote to a bpm
sometimes i write to a basic drum loop and then construct the beat later

Yeah I Can Relate To What You Guys Are Saying...When I Construct a Song..I Base It On Things Other People Can Relate To ..I Put Meaning Into Every Word I Write...I Mostly Talk ABout THings Going on In Someones Life..Like Them Trying To Deal With. something..Or even me trying to deal with something....i dont know ..i like writing about thigns that mean alot to me ...So word !!! lol
Ok I sometimes get a line in my head while im out with my friends or something based on one of their jokes i found funny or an insult i found funny, or based on an incident ive seen , (for example: I was out and saw a car accidents and the cars were pretty messed up so i line might come to me like "i got skills not even bla has - and my lyrics hit harder than a car crash" , somethin like that. though this rarely happens because..
I have a writing on and writing off mode, i can never be thinking about lines unless i lay down grab a pad and pen or sit on my pc and open notepad and listen to a beat on my phone mp3 player or pc. Its kinda like waking up from sleep , you need some time for your body to finally wake up and you're on full energy. Thats how I get into writing on mode , i slowly blend into the mood which takes like 15 minutes then i start writing easily.
I do sometimes get bored of the beat or get sleepy so i shut off the whole thing and continue the next time i can be bothered, unless im writing a song , i -have- to finish it at one time because the next day i might feel different and the whole feel and point of the song will change.
and theres my 2 arabian coins.
