What's the biggest thing wrong with the battlegrounds?

What's the biggest thing wrong with the battlegrounds?

Simple question. I'm going to try and run with an idea to listen to the people that have left, and people that are currently here that have problems.

All votes are anonymous, unless of course you wish to speak about it and give your own insight.

If you choose Other/Not listed, feel free to list what you believe is wrong.

All feedback is appreciated, all opinions are welcome. No opinion is wrong, albeit debatable, the more insight you give the more chance that there can be some change.

I'm doing this because a user on here, and users I e-mailed to bring them back to the site, I asked why they left the site, so far everyone who replied back has said it was because of the Battlegrounds.

Thanks for your input.

All that will be taken into consideration.

I see alot of people leaving though if we issued out losses for free-posting. That's just gonna be put on me to make sure all the battles are clean. I'm willing to do that to, I do it now, I just don't enforce it to the maximum, which I will be soon, cause most free-posting is just hyping themselves or beefing with a voter.

right ive complained in the past about voting so heres my opinion. i dont think their is many genuine dickriders or hate voters. but certain people will not vote unless its who they want to win. eg. if an AME person is battling people will come out of the woodwork to vote. when Jay Gunna came to the site and battled Hazard (i think) people like Plex and 16 Micz suddenly voted and the battle was done straight away. obviously to try and keep him on the site. people vote for their own agenda you will never get rid of that. like if the more friendly users like Bill or Kurse battled people generally vote for them.

then you got people like me, Hazard and Rell for example who have complained about votes. people would say crying and discarding votes but id rather say its just being competitive. these are the battles that stay open for weeks and yeah i know its only net battles but if you put time into writing a verse you dont wanna lose to bullshit votes. fair enough people get tired of the bitching thats why im gonna try my best to refrain from it from now on.

by bullshit votes i dont mean deliberate hate votes i think its just mis educated voters that gets people wound up. i mean its annoying when you come on here and see that you got KO`d and it was 3 people who cant battle for shit that voted. but then again votes are hard to come by so i guess you gotta take every one you can get.

also cats have become a problem. the cats should be stated before checking in and by checking in that should mean that you agree to the cats.
also allow people to explain themselves before discarding votes. i mean Bill you cant say anyone who votes for a cat sweep cant be counted. a battle can still be close and a cat sweep if the winner just edged every cat.

Yeah, I hear you man. That was a mistake on my part using my own discretion. Everything you said will be looked at though. Especially people saying you're crying/bitching, when like you said, it's just competition.

My idea would completely rid the battlegrounds of that. As in completely, I mean completely.

It just depends on how well it goes over.

I'm glad to see these posts explaining everything you guys have a problem with. It'll all help out in the long run.

Actually, I voted for the battle because it wasn't debatable.

You should able to vote on battles when-ever the hell you want.

People don't always have an agenda.

What you said made absolutely no sense c4 besides if you're saying, we gave gunna the win, so he'd stick around, if not then who cares because people are allowed to vote when-ever the hell we want.

The biggest problem is somebody wins/loses in every battle, if you can figure out a fix to that, you got a solution.

plex it dont really matter but of course you voted to keep him on the site. not saying theres anything wrong with your vote but why vote on that battle so quickly. i mean theres has been plenty of undebatable battles that have lay open.

sorry man im not trying to single you out but in the back of my mind i still got your vote in my battle with domino a long long time agao. it was obvious i won but you gave him a cat sweep. that was just after he lost to someone (i cant remember who) and was going mental lol

your probably the most knowledeable person on here when it come to text rap so i know you had an agenda there coz u couldnt have got that so wrong. honestly dont try and patronise me.

Nah, I could really give a fuck less about him staying or going. By then I already predicted that after his first loss, he'd be bitching about the site.

Well, guess what, he did it.

Let me see that battle and yes I am one of the most knowledgeable about text.

cee4-vs-domino-vt6281.html

Maybe because your best line, I've used before. I don't know, I still think, he took punches, personals, and flow.

"Stop Suckin Up, Noone's Givin u Votes Cuz ur Very-Friendly ..||
The Way ur Punches Miss, it's Like u CEE4 Of Every-Emcee! ..||* "

That was a sick line.

its nothing to do with you although i think you get involved to quickly occasionaly but in general your a good mod or whatever you want to be called.

this thread is good for allowing people to vent but theres always gonna be people unhappy. its life

everyone knows illest lyrics has alot of young emcees, people starting out when it's 1-0 or 2-0 i think they fell scared sort of and vote for the same person as the person up them did, that's just me i'm not picking out names for hate or nothing, but it's sort of annoying.

alpha bill, in our battle arv gave you the multi cat first time around, because he wasnt paying attention, that's great so he's not obviously paying attention, that goes for punches, personals, wordplay, and there harder to pick up then multis are, it's sort of a joke. but it's cool he corrected him self and all, but seriously it doesnt really cut it.

I think the main issue is our members have been spoilt, and whenever we try to introduce a new rule they resist it. We should:

- We need to show the difference between an
ADMIN and a MOD and give each one a clear
role in helping this forum advance.
- We need to fire all the current ADMINS and MODs
and elect a new bunch that are willing to do work.
- We need to re-write the battleground's rules.
- Forum should be coded to always show these rules.
- Forum admins should enforce these rules to the letter
- Anyone that does not follow rules should be instantly punished
and no one should get another chance NO EXEPTIONS.
- If a group of people are to rebel and leave the site we
should be ready to accept it because it is for the greater good.
There's a million users out there that are looking for forums with
FAIR and STRICT rules.

^i like that idea

IMO. i think that there should be a time limit in the battles. after the verses are posted than let their be a time limit set by the battlers like the check in limit.and after the limit is up than who ever is up in votes they win. and if no votes are made than keep it up till it gets atleast one vote. simple as that.

- We need to show the difference between an

Agree. Although, some mods are seperate to THEIR boards. Like TGYH with his Sports Arena, and HQ with her Harles Magazine.

- We need to fire all the current ADMINS and MODs
and elect a new bunch that are willing to do work.

Agree. I brought this up before but it would cause drama, people that are admins that do absolutely nothing will stay admins because they've been here since the get-go.

- We need to re-write the battleground's rules.

Tried that. Got bitched at by the WHOLE community.

- Forum admins should enforce these rules to the letter

We need cut and dry rules first.

- If a group of people are to rebel and leave the site we
should be ready to accept it because it is for the greater good.
There's a million users out there that are looking for forums with
FAIR and STRICT rules.

I agree with that too.
