There's sad news in the hip-hop world as KL of the underground favorite group Screwball passed away Thursday night from an asthma attack.

Here's what DJ Premier had to say about KL (his unedited statement):

FOR THE TRUE HIP HOP HEADS THAT KNOW THIER HISTORY ABOUT MC'S THAT COMEOUTTA QUEENSBRIDGE...KL OF THE BONAFIED GROUP SCREWBALL, DIED YESTERDAY OF AN ASTHMA ATTACK.

HIS HARDCORE DELIVERY AND RASPY VOICE WAS WELL KNOWN IN MANY CIRCLES OF
