i can't understand how anybody can consider him great, what makes him "great"

his punchlines? no, for every witty line he has 50 awful ones, he doesn't even structure lines creatively he just uses simple similes

his flow? i'll admit he has a good flow nothing amazing but better than most, but that isn't saying shit hurricane chris and lil mamma can flow better than alotta people in the industry including wayne

his delivery/style? it'd be a legit argument, if he didn't bite gillie's style (which wayne picked up coincidentally right after gillie signed to cash money), and more recently andre 3000's style (which wayne picked up coincidentally right after andre was popular again and on every remix)

his street cred? he has none whatsoever, everybody in new orleans knows hes a fraud

his songmaking ability? he raps about nothing on every track, even on tracks where he trys to stay on a topic he ends up rapping a bunch of nonsense similes

am i really missing something? if so prove me wrong

also if you believe lil wayne is great, do you think hes better than andre or gillie?

only thing i think bout lil wayne is...over rated.....hes got some good verses on collabs here n there...but his songs..like u said DJ r a bunch of nothing.....and i def agree wit him takin andre's style.....hes got a pretty good flow...but again nothing that would make him great

Dude's a fake, he claims to be a blood one day, then claims to be a crip.
His verses are shit, except for a few in some collabs.
The dude aint great, but for some reason people find him very entertaining.

Boosie is better IMO but still aint too good, but Boosie is kinda his own self and Wayne been copyin fools. Wayne been makin 2 many songs recently, and he dont put enuff time in em to make em good, and they is garbage. having alotta metaphors similies doesn't mean shit if they aren't any good... cam'ron has alotta rhymes but it they aren't written well, so you never hear anybody saying his rhyme schemes are crack...

the carter is his only decent album, the carter 2 was horrible, da drought 3 was god awful and it came out last year he fell off long before that, da drought 1 was probably his last decent mixtape

i don't get how his delivery is great, its always been blantantly bitten, the way he ends bars with a nerdy pronounciation is the exact same way 3 stacks has been rapping for years its biting its not charisma or swagger

and on the long run the world and its mainstream is becoming crazier and crazier,
they are embracing the wildest things because there really isnt much left to admire that hasnt really been through the steps of fame. Lil Wayne is just taking advantage of the media's stupidity and blindness.
It's plain to see that the lyricists here that judge raps and analyze flows can see his flaws clearly.
