I consider Lupe Fiasco's The Cool the prequel for whats to come next year for hip hop.
Im expecting drops next year to be just as awesome lol. Obviously there will be dissapoinments but i cant wait lol.
But for sure this year was solid with drops from k west, talib and 50 cent.
I'm looking forward to next year.

FDor sure pap is one of the illest underground (can i still call him that?lol) emcees out. But i seriously doubt he'd make it mainstream man. He's had so many chances to do that in the past. I dont think he wants too.
But for now the rest of the year is Lupe's man.

thats a tough one there

Papoose and Crooked I

possibly the BEST LYRICALLY from the West Coast and from the East Coast now a days

I've heard Crooked I spit and no doubt he is dope, even king tech said he was as good if not better
then Jay Z. which is giving him major props.

Butttt, Pap could also be in that same category cuz lets face it he is a true MC, hes dope lyrically, hes got crazy fuckin wordplay and songs, but not big on the club tracks which is tight cuz im not either. And hes also holdin Brooklyn on his shoulders, and the best comin outta brooklyn are usually some of the best in the game

The way I see it these r possible some of the top 2 or 3 up and coming lyrical dudes in the game right now, and mainstream i dont see either of them doing so well because they rnt from the south and rnt gonna make krunk club banging records
I'll kill u dawg, lyrically or with tha ber-etta. its wut-eva//

but yezzir 2007 was not a good year for hip hop

There was alot of shit happening in the game if u even wanna call it the legendary "game" ne more cuz theres really no competition in dis shit, but none of the shit that went down was legendary or worth remembering at all

Fuck i wish it was 97

That's a tough question ^

Torcher was probably incredibly hard to write.

And I know alaphabet slaughter took Papoose years to refine.

lmao, he doesn't even got a deal no more he ain't even got mixtape buzz anymore, he has no songmaking ability, if he puts out an album out i doubt it'll even sell 100k

he couldn't generate interest with an ill dr dre beat and a busta feature its obvious he can't make songs

to get to the "top" you gotta have at least one hit record, he has 20 mixtapes and no hits on any of them

lol hes taking time? 10+ years isn't enough?, he doesn't even have a deal so he couldn't put out his album even if he wanted to

all in all it was a pretty good year for hip hop no classic material dropped but theres been alotta good albums
