What's in your arsenal?

Post by loumusic »

All the producers on here tell us what's in your arsenal and what's your favorite tool.

MPC 2000 (original not XL)
Korg Triton Le
Cubase SX3
Technics 1200
My favorite is the MPC. I would fuck it if I can.

Honestly Kurse I would invest in the MPC 2000XL because it has more memory, more features, more outs, and it's better in price on ebay. You can get one for about $500 to $700 on there and they will charge the same for a MPC 1000. It's just a better and smarter buy.

I mean if I find one on e-bay brand new...I might...but it's hard to tell what ur buying sometimes from e-bay. That's why I like shopping in-store...that way I see exactly what I'm buying and I can inspect it first-hand. As for the memory and everything...I mix everything down in the laptop...so I export all my files into a external drive...so I never worry about memory space and all that. That's why I was gonna go with a 1000 instead...because I'm not even a fulltime producer...I don't really need all the extras. I'm an emcee who just so happens to know how to produce...I don't really wanna make production a habit. lol

Ha that's funny because I'm the opposite I'm a producer who can rap but I don't want to rap. I'll ghostwrite though if it came down to it.

The MPC Sampler is a drum machine...they're pretty much the same thing for the most part now or days. Like I said...when I get mine, you can come over and fuck around wit it...I don't care. I'm not gonna be using it all that much...I just want one to complete my studio. lol

I love the MPC. I've been using it since 99' but now it's time to upgrade. I want the 2500 but times is hard right now. I do highly recommend the 2000xl just because you can get a used one for 500 to 700 bucks which is in my range. If you are gonna by something new and you're not really gonna use it I don't recommend buying it new, unless your money is long. But overall the mpc is great drum machine/sampler/midi machine. You can control keyboards, sound modules, fruity loops and other software with it too.
