Snoop Promotes More Peace

Post by complexity »

Snoop Dogg once again showed that -- when needed -- there can be unity on the West, like he did in April of 2005 when he called for a peace summit ending his long running beef with Suge Knight and Kurupt.

On Saturday (April 22), Snoop Dogg and his Dogg Pound cohorts, Daz and Kurupt, took a trip to Los Angeles' Elysian Park to film the video for their latest single, "Cali Iz Active." And boy was Cali active.

Showing the support that has been absent since the decline of the West began in the late '90s, nearly every West Coast emcee came through to either make a cameo or just be a part of the monumental event.

Ice Cube, WC, DJ Quik, Tyrese, Too Short, Xzibit, Warren G, Strong Arm Steady, Yo Yo, JT The Bigga Figga, B Real, MC Eiht and Dilated Peoples were all present. And even newcomers like Bishop Lamont, Glasses Malone, J Wells and producer Jelly Roll rallied behind Snoop.

As burgers and hot dogs grilled on the park's barbeques, a slew of extras, video girls and rappers enjoyed themselves on the slightly chilly afternoon, while the cameras captured footage for the new single.

"Y'all need to get a picture of every rapper out here today," Snoop told BallerStatus.net, while our cameras snapped pictures of the rapper with Battlecat's son, who Snoop called his "little nephew."

"I don't care how y'all do it...collage them together. This is a day for the history books," the rapper added.

WC showcased his patented C-Walking skills, as cameras filmed one of the day's party shots, while Snoop's Laker-colored lowrider bounced in the background, capturing that every-so-stylish West Coast flavor.

According to MTV News, the vibe during the day was so good that all the artists in attendance were entertaining the idea of going on tour together.

The Dogg Pound's Cali Iz Active album is slated to drop June 27, while Kurupt drops his next solo LP, Same Day, Different Sh--, June 20, and Daz with his So So Def debut, So So Gangsta, on July 18.
