Beats

If you record, where do you get your beats from? The current best place that I've found is shadowville but I've been a member for a while and listened to most of them and am now looking for some more variety. Any help anyone can provide on a new site to find original instrumentals would be greatly appreciated.

if u dont know anyone personally who makes beats, i'd suggest workin on that.
and i'd also suggest buying beats if ur serious about audio. or at least have the rights to the beat u rap to rather than just downloadin shit from soundclick.
when i didnt have any beats to rap to, i taught myself how to make beats... it was hard work, but its proved very convenient.

You have to pay some money, but $20dollarbeats.com has some good djs.

soundclick sucks, soundcloud doesn't review your accounts. i used to have a soundclick and they shut me down for using unauthorized samples. i can use any sample i want as long as I'm not profiting from it. that's why I don't clear my samples, because I don't sell my beats and if the artist wants to use one of my beats on a retail album, its on him to clear the sample, not me.

Lemmie rephrase that, I will hook fellow Illest members (members I have seen active on the forums, such as yourself, not just any new cat) with free beats. So Illest and my label get my shit for free, anyone else has to pay, especially for original work containing no samples. Hit up my soundcloud in my sig and check some of my work out. If you like any of em, PM me the ones you like. I still need to go thru and label which ones are already in use by my label, but you can also PM a list of like you're top 5 favorite beats ever and I'll make something for you to cater to your tastes, or at least try lol.
