I know I don't share as many songs here on illest as I used to...there was a time that I would drop atleast 1 track a week here on illest. But ever since, my focus in the past year has been primarily on live performances and working on my debut LP "Broken Home" (which will be available on Rhapsody & iTunes by the summer) ...I haven't had much time to share my projects with you all. Especially if the project is potential material for my album, then it gets archived and nobody hears it. lol But because the majority of my labelmates are still bangin mixtapes...I am able to share some of those with you in the meantime. So here I present to you... 'SAY IT TO MY FACE' which is just some loose mixtape material featuring Myself, KO and HKX ...I hope you enjoy.

Aight, the track is picking up... Im digging the chorus... First verse is tight, nice delivery and has some wordplay tied into the lines and stuff... Second verse is standing out to me... But his mixdown doesnt sound as well as with the first verse... His lines are stepped up a little more though, and Im feelin his approach... Third verse, dude's delivery is dope... Feeling the track man. Definitely something worth bumping. Hopefully you'll get more tracks dropped around this way sometime soon.

haha, the beat sounds like its saying "hey". Your annunciation with your style sounds pretty cool. "you aint a pussy, but you survive like I have 9 lives". Well, to be honest, im not familiar with who is who, but im assuming this being your song your doing the chorus and first verse. I have no complaints, everything sounds well paced. TBH, the second verse seemed bland in style compared to the first and third. The suttle "yeayeayea" singing in the back round is a nice touch, if in fact it was an original idea and not part of the beat lol. Nice drop man, prolly one of the most professional sounds ive heard in the booth, so that being said, if you could help myself and others out, and maybe posting your basic set up when recording would be dope. Something simple like; one main track, 2 dubs panned 23 to the left and right, one filler dub panned hard left and such and such... maybe in elevation to give new people a tactic to start experimenting with and develop from. Good song man, thanks for being the MOD for audio and posting this up along with soundcloud.

i like it, a lil quiet tho, could use a jack up on the vocals.
but besides that man i like the fact that the beat was hella chilled out..
you guys are pretty talented man.. always like listening to kurse and HKX
got that swagger on lock.. no real comparisons to others which is good in my perspective

Yea...it's more or less a rough draft to show you guys what we're playing with, the vocals on the first 2 verses and the chorus still need a little tweaking. But as soon as I finish them up on the board, the files and streamed material will be updated.

I appreciate the feedback so far, I'm going to try to drop more material in the upcoming weeks if my schedule allows it.

First V..Sliding on the beat well with your tone- kool content strait forward..

2nd.. Jumps out the gate kool, but then slips after that flow and content... Kinda dulled the track

3rd.. The beat break wasn't clean cut for him.. he jumps out the gate kool too. Slips a lil' bit then picks it up- then down then back up overall strait... Content was strait forward, like you mentioned you're making a point so fine..

Overall... Strait forward no lines that jump out at you, but it makes its point like you wanted.

chorus isn't bad but i think it'd be about 5 times better if you adlibbed it. First verse was cool. To be honest I wasn't feeling the 2nd verse, but the monotonous feel of the beat and song in general pretty much set up the last verse to stand out. Sort of the same way eminem's verse stands out on forever even though eminem didn't really say anything

overall the track is solid though. I agree that I don't think I'd put it on an album but it's good mixtape material.

say it to my face, look, dont say it to my facebook. haha maaan that was the line that stood out to me. the beats is wild man. the type i like fuckin wit. the tempo really allows you to be open with your delivery. cut it up fast, or come with the swag, slow style. kurse ma man, your vocals fit this beat like a glove dawg. you really know how to mix your vocals to perfection. the hook was nice, someone mentioned that maybe some adlibs would of added to it. i agree. im always a fan of them. thats just me tho. its sick either way. KO, i aint really heard alot of him, but like i said at the beginning, that line stood out to me cus of the type of shit you see on facebook. haha. someone always talkin shit. maaaaan. HKX, maaaan thas ma nigga. dude is always comin super duro. haha. his flow is always on point to me. never seems to let me down when it comes to a hot verse. i cant really critique it as far as production goes, since you say its more of a rough draft. im sure yall know what you need to do. nice track tho fellas. my type of joint.
