Lone soldier on the road to the next battlefield
where the dream was to have a deal, from scraps to fields
filled with active shields, something to protect home
he'd inject dope just so he could continue to progress, sew
patches on his shoulders to represent the pain at hand
the game and plan, were nothing other then to gain, then land
back on the plains and grab, the nearest piece of love
with his mind seizing up, his arms folded, the breeze is tough
all he ever seen is guns, that seem to be react automatic
tossed his jacket, that was filled with bullets lost in active
duty, so he proceeded to leave everything up or down to fate
the surrounding base, was towered by smoke, as the sounds escape
so does his breath, as though to reach the end of his rope
pretending his folks, will know he died a soldier defending his post
he kneels down, accepting the boast, toast to the Heavens
thank you God for sending, these armor piercing shots, I step in
another direction, accepting everything I've become....and
hopefully you'll understand this is the last note of a running man
but I can't seem to wrap my head around the lasting nightmares
it may seem I might care, but after all of the bloodshed in the nights air
I can no longer stand to fight for a freedom that seems plagarized
I hate the life I'm leading, only because it's become so fake and I...
know I have no children, the only woman I loved, that unfaithful slut
ran off with a man, a mutt, someone I trusted and claimed was broth...
nevermind God, this is my last moment, I just wanted to clarify
that after this last shot, this last run, I'm no longer scared to die....
