I don't agree with a cat sweep so I'll break it down.

Phle had better flow

Punches were universal on both sides, however I would say Prophet's was more original. (I remember seeing that bmx bar line in a battle verse on this board...umm maybe Dosia)

Prophet takes the personals as I think Phle dropped one line about Prophet otherwise I'd think he was battling someone with the word "Dog" in their name.

Multies - divided

So with all that said, I'd say Prophet gets my vote for originality with his punches.

Prophet's verse wasn't bad. The flow was on and off with its consistency. The punches had some good ideas but just not enough follow through. I think the quality of the verse, though, would have been good enough against quite a few cats on here. Just not enough for this battle.

Phlebiac's verse was quite ill. The flow was what got my attention right off the bat, it never fell off but yet wasn't sacrificed for content. Their weren't too many personals, but that'd probably be my only qualms with this. Otherwise I thought it was dope.

Prophet: IMO usually this shoulda been an easy victory for you Im kinda ashamed of you for this because you came a lot harder at me. But you slacked like a mothafucker here and PHLE's Consistent Rhymescheme Flow and last 4 Lines ATE you in this battle str8 up.

imo Prophecy's lines (like line 3,5,and 7) are far too extended and lacked potent,sensible setups followed by demolishing punches.I can't stress enough how important it is to clearly and sensibly convey one's concepts and ideas in battles,and in TEXT BATTLES IT'S EVEN EASIER TO DO.there's simply NO excuse for that.

With that said,Prophecy's opener was nice and I don't agree with the tendency to criticize what may be perceived as a lack of direction in his punches and bars.I know that there are people who think that Proph's lines are too general in this battle,but I start with the understanding that we all have when we enter the battle threads: these MCs know who they're facing and they should engage each other accordingly.While Proph could have hit with more personals,i don't think that the creativity of his punches should be punished for the relative lack of personals.

Again..a 2 round battle with flips tends to remedy this situation rather nicely.This tends to provide both more fuel and more fire for personals and firepower.


Now Phle was dropping a somewhat unremarkable verse that was on par with Proph's until he just straightened up and started swinging with his last 4 lines.It's these last 4 which cleanly won Phle the battle imo.

Creativity: Phle (last 4 bars)

Multis: Phle (Proph would have had a better showing if he rhymed his bars better and set his sullables up more cleanly)

RHYME SCHEME: you guys should have this cat...and it'sNOT the same as MULTIS.Rhyme scheme encourages different methods of rhyming which INCLUDE multis (which is short for "multisyllable rhymes") and promotes inners,every other line rhymes,layered rhymes,single bar rhymes (like rhyme scheme could be a,a,b,b,c,d,c,d,e,f,f,) wherein bar E rhymes internally with itself and nothing else but doesn't throw off the flow.I have raps like this.It takes a whole lotta skill,creativity,vocab,flow control,etc. to buts these kinds of rhyme schemes.This kind of expression is the hallmark of the megalyricist.Anyway,PHLE used a somewhat consistent single-souble single and double-single rhyme scheme.PROPH missed rhymes peridoically and that killed him here.If he didn't? he'd havea more ADVANCED RHYME SCHEME and would have won this cat.

EX: PROPH:

(EXPERIENCED HEADS WOULD PRONOUNCE THIS BAR AS: "ain't dense,REETARDS...GEEE-TAR" with the "g" being pronounced as a hard "g' like in GUILLOME as opposed to a "j" sound like "john". This is a classic example of "pronouncing a rhyme" in a "near perfect rhyme".)

unfortunately,Proph winds up NOT MAKING SENSE in the bar he's trying to use to point out that PHLE doesn't make sense.Lol.

i could give an example that cleans up this bar and promotes a more sophisticated rhyme scheme,but I thik i'll just take a lil time out one day and drop i nthe writtens a piece that illustrates my point more forcefully.



METAS: Idk if you guys have this cat,but I didn't see it.Metas are defined as:"a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance".And Phle got him there too.

VOCAB; PHLE.Not only did he use a judicial mix of average and above average words,he used them correctly and more powerfully.
