Can we change a rule? Opinions??

Discuss what ever is on your mind, the only rule is that you leave the hip hop talk to the other forums. Want to know what others are watching on TV, this is where you'd ask.

Can we change a rule? Opinions??

Post by ER215 »

Can we change the 50 posts to Vote rule please... That's another reason it's hard to close some battles up... New members come but they can't be as active cuz the gotta get 50 posts and shit.... It'll help the traffic flow better I think...

What do you think?
Anything from the Mods and Admins?

possible... nobody follows that rule but it just keeps it fair for them to have a certain amount of posts for them to vote... it eliminates the chances of cheating or others creating a different account to vote on their own battle...

I dont think its a good idea.

The reason being, and its the best one that I have (and I have plenty), people can create new accounts using a different computer, and vote for themselves or have others do so or whatever. Thats a mess as a mod that I dont want to clear up. Plus, if it slips by our mods for any duration of time, then its even more of a mess to clean up. I know to some it might sound like a stretch, but more people are desperate than you think, even if it means some little dumb shit on the net. Furthermore, keeping it at 50 posts helps to create activity throughout the entire site, which matters more than a single forum. That being said, I would love more support and activity in that forum as much as you would, thus the reason I even fucking battle in there. (I have over one twenty wins of those over one fifty battles, and I feel NO need to prove that Im capable of getting in the ring and taking a W). But I battle now to help get activity in that forum, as well as ANY OTHER forum I can help the activity, and thus the lively hood, which progresses the entirety of this site.

Thats my two cents. And making sense makes dollars. :)

Im not trying to discourage you on what you are trying to do. Any activity in any way is a positive in my eyes, and you are only trying to help push the envelope and I understand that. Its appreciate more than you think by people that dont even give a shit lol. They dont realize that everything forms the whole. The shoutbox isnt the only thing this site has to offer. Lol. But I would like it to be different as well bro.

---Voters
To vote in a battles you must have one or more of the requirements.

-You must have more than 50 posts.
-You must have dropped a piece in the scriptures/battled once.
-You must have introduced yourself in the new users forum.
You don't HAVE to have 50 posts if you've done one of the other two. And battle rules are flexible as fuck, if you don't mind anyone at all voting then state it in the thread.

Dude has made a great point there. But Hollywood posting a thread in that forum for them doesnt count... They have to reply in there somewhere.

although reaching 50 post might discourage some users since they can't vote, they can still battle, i dont see why someone would want to leave the site cause their vote didn't count since they didn't reach their quota, there's exceptions that if they've battled and then voted they can qualify, or possibly dropped a written piece as well, it all depends on who's battling if they want to count their votes, automatically if no one complains not much will be enforced by the mods or admins

There's no need at all for this rule to change or be voided, Removing it will definitely not make a difference to anything i guarantee you that, cause although new users may be eligible to vote afterwards it doesn't mean that they will, most people just wanna battle and get moving, the link system hardly works so it's practically pointless, people will do as they please, we as admins and mods just try to keep things running smooth and fair, but everyone will bump heads so the rules are there so people can just deal with it, the chances of a new user voting is about 1/10 that are active, and 1 vote will only make a difference in about 10% of the battles that happen, it's more often we come across one sided matches
