Officer's deal to smuggle drugs into Cook County Jail caught

A correctional officer at the Cook County Jail who was caught on camera accepting marijuana and cocaine to deliver to an inmate has been charged with four felonies after undercover officers arrested him Monday.


Timothy Fuller, 42, of Oak Park, is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver after being caught by a sting investigation, according to a release from the Cook County Sheriff’s office.

Fuller, a 15-year correctional officer who worked in the jail’s medium-security Division 11 building, has been suspended with pay pending a termination hearing before the sheriff’s Merit Board, the release said.

The investigation began when members of the sheriff’s Office of Professional Review learned that Fuller was involved in suspicious activity at the jail involving inmates, according to the release.


Fuller allegedly had agreed to meet a woman who would give him drugs to smuggle into the jail in return for $400, the release said. He allegedly told the inmate to have a woman deliver the drugs so he could flirt with her and ask her out.


Fuller was arrested Monday after accepting 15.9 grams of cocaine and 135 grams of marijuana from an undercover female officer in an exchange captured on video in an undercover police vehicle, the release said. The rendezvous happened following his shift, which ended at 3 p.m. Monday.


Fuller is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday morning, the release said.

As an ex-convict and resident of a prison facility for two and a half years, I know that guards bring shit in for the inmates for money. Really, it doesnt take much to bribe the officers, which is surprising. Inmates narc on other inmates quick as shit too, because they hate that they dont have...


And its not just drugs getting smuggled in. I know a guy serving a life sentence (I was housed in the dorm with him during my transport time period shit) that paid an inmate working the visitation canteen just to bring him Reese Cups. Reese Cups were only available to inmates if and during the time they got a visit. This inmate serving the life sentenced would pay three dollars per pack of Reeses, nearly 400% profit to the inmate bringing it in, but who could lose one of the best inmate jobs on the compound, possibly get another charge for bringing in contraband (I dont think that would stick tho, since technically it was inside the prison walls already), and do some time in 'the box' (which isnt a very fun place to be, I'll tell you)...

Anyhow, thats just some insight of mine to shed on this subject.

I agree with that for the most part, but thats also how people would do trade offs to get shit smuggled in for them... They would give an officer information, then the officer would catch the other inmate, and the more shit like that happening for an officer, the quicker he can move up in the ranks, which obviously pays more. Ive seen lots of shady shit go down. Its bonkers really.
