Nas Hip-Hop is dead sold 355,000. This is his third number one billboard hit. "It Was Written" and "I am". One of Nas best performances. Which proves he isn't slowing down.Young Jeezy didn't even last on the top ten for the second week.Nas just might be happy about this. Seeing that Young Jeezy just might be something he doesn't like about hip-hops current state. Thats just in my estimation. This album seems to be accepted at least on forums throughout the online communities even before it was officially released. The buzz it received on the forums and internet communities. Also Nas officially blog probably contributed a lot to the success of this album. Illest Lyrics will keep you posted on the latest Nas news.

all the controversy, and the title itself attracted listeners, considering 3 of the biggest names in the south had something to say about the title im sure he got some listeners down here as well as his normal new york and west coast fans...

yeah.. that's the main reason he sold that much.. really jay'z made a hell of an advertising job, when goin public and sayin that hip hop is dead. controversial, but damn, the response he got was at least worth a couple of thousand listeners..
