Drake - Thank Me Later - Reviewed By M.Lucas

Fireworks
It's Not Too Much of a hype song imo very relaxed style, the verses were good nothin exciting no classic lines, i dont think too me, the bridge into the hook didnt fit in with the rhythym at all when i first listened to it, but as i listened a couple more time you start to get the groove of the track that is when i really started to pick up on some of the good lines as i stated earlier nothin extatic but could be considered as inspiring "From the concrete who knew that a flower would grow" and "My fifteen minutes started an hour ago" this song isnt the bets on the album but after a while it grows on you to be a good listen, Alicia Keys did the hook quite well but the metaphor for success shouldnt really be fireworks should it?

Karaoke
the beat on this straight away pulled me in had a sort of Sade feel to it but Drake put his own spin too it this has a smooth sound to the track, and i think this has to be one of the best sounding tracks compared to the others it's alot less about the strong lyrics it's softer, the rapping fit in well didnt dissrupt the flow and i enjoyed the track from begginning to end.

The Resistance
this song has more an ambient sound to it, it's more based towards Drakes efforts to gain success the chorus blended in with the verses and more of a harmonized feel to it, laid back is how it started but slower seems to be more an active song, just a normal Drake song more polished up though.

Over
this track rules the Radio waves and is loved by many on the planet, this track is more hyped up to show his skills and what he can really do, where he shows his lyrical ability and basic rhyming with such ease and makes it sound good without being too exaggerative about what he can and cannot do, and props to his tribute to Dead Prez in the second verse.

Show Me A good Time
the beat was very irritating , the hook was good i felt harmonized well, the flow too the song was ruined possibly by the repeating of the hook line and the beat overall this wasnt a great song and brought the album down if the lyrics werent as good as they were the song would have failed big time.

Up All Night
this song is a dark sounding beat and drake does it proud the lyrics are nice and the hook flows well really catches the listener imo, Nicki Minaj sort of annoying voice but really brought something to the collab between them, they made it quite an enjoyable song a quicker tempo compared to the rest of the album.

Fancy
the hook was irritating and the beat didnt do it any favours Drake and Swizz deliver their 16 bars each about how they love there women and all the normal ish, T.I i feel out shines both of them in this collab really with the smoothest flow and was gettin back in too his groove since being released as the song got towards the end and they made it sound like they were on a phone it got worse and worse, not a great song on the album.

Shut It Down
by far the longest collab on the album, it has the slow tempo more heartfelt lyrics about one particular girl and has that smooth flow that people can sing along to, the album version has alot more force than the demo did, it brings more excitement to the song and Drake and The Dream trading verses this makes a pretty good song and enjoyable to listen to.

Unforgettable
this song was the first rap rap song on the verse, Drake and Jeezy really came together well to produce this masterpiece, Jeezy had that grimey croakyness as he usually does that finished the song off with great touches, alot of people may be angry or hating on the song because The Dream covered "One In A Million" and Drake sampled Aaliyah for the beat but thats up to you as the listener to decide.

Light Up
Too many people should have been the radio single instead of Over, i agree, it's a dark song with more bass and a cold feel to the beat, straight up spittin from Drake and showing his ability much like Over but has more of a real feel to it, the beat builds up, then Jay-Z sweeps through to complete the song with a very good verse many people are claiming as good as he as ever been this track is a good example of the album upto this point, you didnt know what too expect but it came through and your glad you listened.

Miss Me
This has to be the happiest uplifting songs on the album, this was easiest song on the album to forget about nothing spectacular about it at all, nothin really drags you in, Lil Wayne does what he normally does and brings some witty bars but nothing he can do can save this song, it's just a filler i suppose.

Cece's Interlude
The Shortest Song As it's An Interlude, Nothin Special About The Lyrics But It Has A good feel to the whole song the guitar riff makes the song alot better in my opinion it shows the feeling sort of a Phil Collins chanelled through Kanye Through Drake feel to it if you understand that.

Find Your Love
One of the more uplifting beats and to celerbrate things is what it sounds like and Drake although through the album does seem to become a one trick pony about women and success still brings the like ability to the song as a whole.

Thank Me Now
This is quite a good finish to the song, Timbaland gives up the euphoric beat that relax's you and Drake puts his finish to it more arrogant it feels and although this track is alot different to the feel of the whole album it still feels more in place than "Miss Me" or "Show Me A Good Time" it's upbeat and more excitement maybe to show us into the next type of music he is going to do.

Thank Me Later - The Album
The Whole album was a good listen apart from one or two tracks that bring it down it is a pretty buy or download i'll leave that upto you, and if his album takes off from where he is it will be a refresher course as he doesnt pretend he's from the hood or shooting people he does what he does well and writes an impressive song from begginning to end.
