We were all taught as children.

Post by Borat »

A little poem I wrote at work the other day.

We were all taught as children that tomorrow, Is just another today.
Our families, they’re all fucked up.
During dinner; Father turned off the world.
Mother taught us to chew our food slowly…

So you, you learned to digest your future with tonight’s gut feeling
That tomorrow, only brings another cup of sunshine.
This! Is that same shine you learned to mimic while watching your
Father in the mirror, His reflection painting his face from neck up
With clouds, using razors to wash away his 5 o’ clock shadow.

The same way your sixteen year old sister used her license to
Drive her self crazy. Collecting tears in shot-glasses,
Her calendar, show’s us how relation-ships work.
Every other day another EX.

My Father’s children were all told that today ends with tomorrow.
I took that shit seriously, now all I can watch… Is my watch.
Counting seconds like hours, the years… There forever…

In waiting for tomorrow, we learned to mix sunshine
With coffee and talk good mornings across the table,
Sure… shove opinions down my throat till my voice reeks
Of reason, I’ll digest conversations with the family dog
Beneath the table and retreat to my comfort zone…
Our families, There all fucked up.

^^^^^^^ I like that part

for some reason I view this as if you was looking at a picture
then you just went in, for some reason I envision you sitting on a bench
drinkin' a espresso of some sort
then watching as people pass you by and thinking of their daily rituals...nice write bro
