Taking nothing from Fabolous, but Joe would wipe the floor with fabolous. Joe Budden is on a whole different level lyrically than fab. Fab is a good "in booth" rapper. Meaning he makes a good marketable mainstream verse, Nothing too crazy but better than alot. Joe Budden is a good "realist rapper", he makes verses that while not receiving much publicity, make listeners into instant fans. I see Joe as having more a mixtape style, where Fabolous is mainstream. It all falls down hat you determine to be considered successful; Do sales make you successful, or does having more talent than the next mark success? Joe maybe won't sell as much as Fab Killah, you're right. But Fab will never be as deep and poetic as Joe. Fabs is a punchline rapper. Joe just vents and it rhymes. Anyone who isn't a Joe fan needs to listen to his paddded room album, specifically these songs;

if you can listen to these and not say Joe isn't impressive then you sir (or ma'am) dont know hip hop.

Joe is definitely an ill and talented, often underrated emcee, however Fab is actually nicer on his mixtape shit. In fact, Joe's albums are better than Fab's. But I credit that more to the production. Fab uses his mainstream beats on his albums. But Fab can have his deep moments too. Maybe not as soulful and self relieving as Budden, but he can go there. His Can You Hear Me song comes to mind. When you think about it, these two are apples and oranges. The comparison is completely subjective since there is no set standard where you can measure an emcees talent. Its all personal preference. Some may prefer Budden spilling his feelings out while others prefer Fab's punches and wordplay. Neither are right or wrong. But I still stick with my opinion that on a strictly lyrical level, Fab is iller. Delivery, metas, wordplay, multies, flow, punches, Fab takes it. Its like comparing Pac and Biggie.

i dont think FAB would be better for slaughterhouse, how??? fab is not street or hood at all, at least not how he hold himself. but i do agree that he is the weakest link in slaughterhouse but look who he gotta compete wit. 3 of the sickest dudes in HIPHOP today period.. budden does go hard and does get emotional n deep in every track he does but the elements always win

Haha Fab has more street credibility than Budden. I keep hearing about Joe getting jumped and robbed and dumb shit. I think Fab would be a great replacement for Budden. Besides, Royce, Crooked and Joell are NOT 3 of the sickest in the game. They're all dope as hell, but seriously, there are many better emcees. For real though, I think Lloyd Banks is the ideal replacement for Budden. That would be a hell of a lineup. And then replace Ortiz for Tech N9ne to really add some variety to the group lol.

Lol Yeeaaaa Budden Has Street Cred.. Only Place You Hear About Him Though is Tha internet.... Only Place He Has Any Fans is Tha internet.. i Love That Kinda Street Cred...
Taking nothing from your arguement Hate, but where are you right now? you in the streets or you on the net? Saying he only has fans on the net and that doesn't a perosn successful is like saying stores that only sell products online do less that real life stores. And we all know that isn't the case. YES fabolous has punchlines and his tracks are hot. But I see him in the same Cat a Juelz Santana...the type of rapper people like but never claim is their favorite. I know a GANG of people who would claim Joey as their favorite. Thats the difference between JOE n FAB. And for all these replacements for slaughthouse, nobody would fit besides the four. HAve you seen their youtube videos? There's group chemistry. They all hungry and similar artists. And I personally think Crooked is weaker than joey. IMO its Ortiz, Joe, Royce then Crooked. But don't get mew wrong,just cuz crooked is the worst in the group, its like saying you took last in the miss universe pangeant; you still better than 90% of ya competition.

-- Fri Mar 26, 2010 2:02 pm --

but if we gonna toss in names for new members or replacements for slaughterhouse, why not Papoose? lol id say Saigon but thatd never happen. or dude from the Adreniline track on padded room (i posted aa link for this video on page one of this thread)
