and yes mel gibson rambled drunk while getting a DUI or something i believe? and he was on every news channel for how long and on every late night program was making jokes, but just see how long this michael richards thing lasts, given hes not as famous as mel gibson but russel crowe pulled a similar stunt and he was more famous than gibson at the time and it didn't get hardly any attention

as i said before, the reason the gibson thing got such play is because he was allready accused of being anti-semetic. And as you said, mel gibson and kramer aren't even CLOSE to the same level of celebrity.

and i just saw him on letterman with seinfeld, i sorta respect his honesty he didn't try to play it off or try to be funny or even really try to make any excuses, what he did was still pathetic and wrong, comedians get heckled their whole careers and hardly any of them have responded that bad ever

i saw that to [thanks for lettin me know about that] and he did seem like a broken man. It pissed me off how he referenced katrina for no reason, trying to 'side' with black people. [which makes no sense, an equal number of blacks and whites lost thier lives]

atleast he did not claim he was an alcoholic or drug addict [yet] which celebrities like to do in order to make excuses for their behavior.

I think Kramer was just role playing and he took his character over board and no one understood the joke(not black). He was interupted but it doesn't give him the right to use such profound words(curse you Dave Chappelle). Kramer was on the Letterman Show last night via satelite. His whole apologize is acceptable. However, I believe he was pulling an act on with the studder and depression look. The Katrina reference came out of no where, which no one understood. Laughter in the audience silenced quickly when he acted to be serious. Although it's a serious matter for Jesse Jackson, racism is funny. Kramer just needs to revise his act.

He wasn't role playing at all he went into a racist outburst cause 2-3 dudes in the audience weren't paying attention to his show and talking to each other, It wasn't part of his act at all it wasn't meant to be a joke he was just frustrated and decided to be racist cause his whole set was horrible and nobody was laughing and a few black dudes weren't even paying attention

And on letterman he wasn't putting on an act, hes not that good of an actor he was just shook and didn't really know what to say, and the audience laughter stopped when seinfeld told them too cause the audience wasn't really aware of the situation and probably thought it wasn't as bad as it was, he was being serious the whole time he even said maybe this isn't the right place to do it when he heard the laughter
