Studio Vs. Mixtape…

According to the The Canadian Press, the best things in life are free. The neighbors up north just posted a really cool article on the difference between mixtapes and studio albums, promoting the debate of “artists make better music on their mixtapes than on a studio album.” Long time hip hop emcee and radio personality Buck 65 lent his two cents on the subject, speaking on his 3-album mixtape “Dirtbike” that was released in 2008.

In a lot of ways, there’s just no comparison between my performances — and in a lot of ways the material — on ‘Dirtbike’ compared to some of my other releases,” said the Canadian emcee.

(It’s) maybe a weird thing to admit, (but) of all the stuff I’ve done, it’s what I listen to the most.”

They also speak on Drake’s success and cut it up a little bit with Toronto emcee Kardinal Offishall. Good read, definitely check it out right here.
