Another phenominal guitarist lost. He died on Sunday at the young age of 41 of Lung cancer. Hailing from Toronto, he was a musician with many talents, including the clarinet and trumpet. He was blind, lost his eyesight before the age of one. He started playing guitar at three, and basically trademarked "lap playing". creating a unique sound. To boot, he blended jazz, rock, and blues into something amazing. He had many bands, won many awards, and lived a badass life. He will be missed.
"Jeff Healey may be the only cat around who can play the prewar jazz of Louis Armstrong on the trumpet, and the heavy electric blues-rock of ZZ Top on the guitar.â€
