So i definitely cracked a rib. And there's no way to get out of work, so I need to figure out a way to work a labour job with a cracked rib. Right now, I've got one of those thermacare heatwraps on it (the things where the guy in the commercial is like "i could do backflips.....maybe not"), and I'm on fentanyl and oxycodone for the pain, not to mention the mounds of dope i've been smoking, but nothings working for shit.
Any ideas?
I know doctors can't do shit.

fetenal patchs?
smoking weed isn't going to help heavy breathing will just aggravate the pressure on your rib, & weed has very little painkilling effects
you need to figure out a way to sort of splint your rib-section so it limits movement without applying pressure
limit slouching, keep a good posture while walking sitting & laying down with your spine aligned
rib injurys are a bitch but they're managable, personally i'd stop taking the oxy and opt for hard liquor, both will leave you hazy but oxy makes you drowsy which in turn causes more slouching & it fucks with your stomach even more than liquor, it all depends on your job though if you don't need to be that active oxy may work better, you can take both but it'll kill your liver so unless you don't have much history of using pain killers & alcohol i wouldn't recommend combining the two cause its an easy way to OD just by using them recreationally let alone needing them to block pain
you can use fetanol patches & liquor at the same time cause the fetanol isn't passing through your liver directly
i'm not a big fan of doctors at all but if the pain increases significantly and becomes more "piercing" you definately need to get to a doctor

another obvious thing is dress warm outside, more lung pressure = more rib pressure, you wanna limit heavy breathing anyway you can

I'm a cleaner, and we have 150 hours in contruction cleaning booked in the next two weeks, hence why I can't be off work. Basically meaning that when i'm not lugging wood planks or other random shit that the carpenters fat asses were too lazy to bend over and pick up, or shopvacing the shit out of the place, i'm up on scaffolding. Also, on Sundays i do resort flips, which involves a lot of bending, lifting, stretching, etc.
The heatwrap is kind of somwhat working like a brace, but i'm not thinking that it's gonna help much once i'm working. Also, I don't drink. And smoking weed calms me down more than anything, because this shit is stressful! lol. And the oxycodone isn't nearly as bad as the ocycotin when it comes to the drowsyness etc, because it's got more acetominophen in it than anything else.

btw are you on oxycodone or oxycontin? low mg dose of oxycodone + tylenol = percaset, oxycontin = pure high dose of oxycodone, oxycontin is significantly more powerful
if you're in alotta pain 40 mg pills of oxycodone would probably work best any more will make you sick and any less won't be effective enough

They're 80mg oxycodone, and 50 mcg fentinyl patches.
I used to be a pill-popping alcoholic, so I very rarely drink anymore, and i don't fuck with the cocktails anymore.

nvm my last post then, you're on percaset not oxycodone you're right it won't make you that drowsy but it also won't be as effective cause its mainly tylenol
booze is your best bet whether or not you drink if your painkillers aren't working, cause it won't make you as drowsy & you're not doing complicated work so you could probably get the job done completely wasted

huh? 80 mg pills of oxycodone aren't combined with tylenol, if you're taking 80 mg doses of pure oxycodone and your still in pain somethings seriously fucked inside you reguardless of tolerance

No shit....Thus why I'm asking for other suggestions....other choices:
-Novo Naprox
-Endocet
-T3's
-Valium.
I just figured if anything was going to work, it would be the oxycodone and fentinyl.

another obvious thing is don't bend over, that applys pressure to your ribs, keep your back straight and just bend your knees instead
