Eminem when he was underground was influenced that's why their was such a contrast of his style
between "infinite" and "slim shady lp" because he sounded like everyone else in the game at the time.

^ exactly hes never been original 'till his last 2 albums so how can he even be influential when hes heavily influenced, all his older shit is just a knockoff esham/cage/chino xl/copywrite type style
if you wanna be realistic you can say he just took ICP's style of writing and perfected it

he went from battle rapper to mainstream mc basically, their was no real "underground mc" period, he did a few collabs and shit and a few songs but that was it he never even had an underground buzz, and nobody with a bitten style is influential lmao
and hes not the most famous rapper ever, theirs plenty of rappers more famous and even more rich
