Want to record decent vocals to music but don't have alot of money to spend on studio-time or heavy equipment. Then the Tascam DP-01 Porta Studio would definately work for you and get the job done. It's an 8 Track recorder and has the output for to 1/4 jacks plug your microphones into. I only used this board for about 4 months until I came into a little bit more money and upgraded to a larger piece of equipment. But I have it with the original packaging and box. The original manf. warr. papers and the instruction booklet with the wall plug-in. No seperate amp is needed...it's self amplified and you can add effects and master it as well on the DP-01. I'm selling it for $200 for just the Tascam alone...but for another $25. I'll throw in a standard mic and a 10-15 foot mic chord with a 1/4 plug-in...that way you'll be ready to go as soon as you get it home. I recorded my whole entire first mixxtape using this piece of equipment and the sound & vocal quality was excellent. You can record instrument as well and plug guitar directly into it. The first picture below is an ad pic for it...but the second pic is of the DP-01 sitting with the rest of my equipment. The DP-01 has two mic inputs on ¼" TRS jacks for dual mono or stereo recording. Its eight tracks record at uncompressed CD quality to an internal 40GB hard drive, and a stereo master track is available for recording a mix. Each channel of the DP-01 has a 45mm volume fader, plus dedicated controls for pan, effects send, high EQ and low EQ. An LCD display shows meters, editing settings and locate points. The DP-01 has a USB 2.0 jack for file backup and transferring mixes to a computer. There are analog RCA line outputs, a headphone out and S/PDIF line output.
