theres 2 different kinds i've seen

one has a split like almost in the middle

and one has 2 splits one like an inch and the others like 2-3 inches down from the short split

just take the RAM you have with you to the store and find one that looks the same

The most popular for new computers is ddr2. Just look up on the net about your computer. It will tell you homie. Any more questions just ask

Aight, I Got Another Question.

I Just Scanned My Computer For A RAM Stick That Matches My Computer. An One Of The listings In The Results Was..

Installed Memory: 2 slots: 256 MB, empty

I Knew There Was More Then 1 Slot For RAM. But Does that Mean I Shouldn't Buy A 512 MB RAM Stick? Or If I Did, Would It Not Hold It Rather?...Or Was It Sayin There's 256MB In One Slot, An The Other Is Empty...

It is saying you have 256mb in one slot and nothing in the other.

Which means you could buy another strip of 256.

Or you could find out if your motherboard can hold a gig of ram.

Which would mean 512mb in both slots. That way you could buy one stick now. And able to buy another one later. Instead of buying a 256 now. Then not being able to get more later.

Try to read over like that 2-3 times and it will make sense. Lmao

if your computers newer it probably has a 1 gig limit, which would mean you could add the 512 in addition to the one you got and have 768, if its only got a 512 limit you're better off just buying another 256 and adding it
