What do you do first? Pick a beat, make a chorus, than follow up with the verses? Or that's same thing backwards?

For me, I spark up, think of how AWESOMELY COOL I am, then put whatever sounds best on paper.....

Think of a good subject...

Match the emotion of the beat to the subject...

Start writing even if it doesnt rhyme to capture emotion...

Proceed to throw my head at a wall until it rhymes...

Recite till My wife says I'm annoying...

Hit record and pretend im someone cooler than I really am.

I jus light up, play a beat from the collection i have, then star to write. I gotta be in the mood to write tho, otherwise itll come out shittier than it already does. Timing is everything

i use to do it to beats, and then to beats in my mind, naturally once i start a line the beat of my syllables develop on its own and i change it up from time to time

Best time ta write for me is when I hear a new beat, one I havn't before..
Otherwise a cig, silence with beat in mind, do the verse in mind, and then type it out, since itz faster than actual writing

A lot of my best work was written on the shitter, no lie. I think of a lot of rhyme schemes in the shower too, anywhere where im relaxed and alone. If not in one of those two places, my best shit is usually written in the late nite hours when i have something on my mind and cant sleep. I always write to a beat. A lot of times what happens is i get a certain song stuck in my head which usually matches my mood and i write to that, or if im inspired by a certain vibe a track puts off.

I generally just write the shit then find a beat to match the emotion/flow. Always write it on the computer and what not with notepad as it is easier to alter and what not than standard ink/lead on a paper.

i just listen to the radio or my itunes collection and freestyle to different songs if i say something i think is sick or think up a concept ill stop write it down then go off what i wrote down and start from there...

When I write it could be off da top of my head... I could be takin' a shit & come up wit a rhyme or wat ever lol. Beat wise I'll listen to a beat then write wat I feel to it. There's times I don't even play da beat I could listen 2 a beat 4 less then 30 seconds stop da beat & write 2 it. There's been times where I've chilled wit Viral listen 2 a song I don't even kno & finish da bars dat r bein' spat haha... I now tend 2 do da same thing wit beats I've only heard 4 a few sceonds. I find myself writin' out of no where sometimes specially wit my cell phone I could save bars/topics in my celly. I've been writin' since b4 8 so it comes natural 2 me.

i think you're right about the relaxed shit, i always say my best lines come to me when takin a shit or in the shower, late at night when im super tired im so much better ironically, i suppose my tired state of mind reaches a lyrical dementia that allows me to break limits
