This summer, Illest will be hosting a tournament, sponsered by ME (and probably K Panda), to find out who the best text battler IN THE WORLD IS!. What do I mean by that? Well...

Over the next couple months, people will be coming to the site, and they will want to know what the benefit is of them being HERE! The benefit is, cash fucking money. And ANYONE can win, it takes improvement from everyone, getting people to join the site, and people actually sticking around and being active. It takes people staying on the site after they join. It takes people paying attention to the art others create, and displaying art themselves.

Here's my offer to you... I am offering ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, of MY money, and whatever else anyone will donate for this cause, to the winner of a text battle this summer. Dates will be given out when I feel its ready to happen. Also, the winner will get other small bonuses added.

According to K Panda, this wil have a second a third place finish as well, so that more than ONE person can benefit from being a part of possibly the biggest tourney in site history!!!

What are your feelings on this? Can you bring anyone to the site ni anticipation of winning some moeny, just for showing their creative side?

If you feel this isnt going to benefit the site in any way, please dont comment on this. I dont want negative influences bringing down something that could put the site to heights it hasnt seen in a long time.

I don't want any people bullshitting in this thread, I want honest opinions about if they think this is good for the site, if they would participate, if they could get some people to come to the site for this, or if they think its not going to work out they well...


If someone signs up for this and doesn't show up, consider a change of sex taking place as far as the Illest universe is concerned lol

I'm in man, I can probably get a couple other emcees from the uk to join too, should be a good way to influence people to elevate their creative sides.

Sites have cash prizes for tournaments before. $100 really isn't that much in the real world. The GRB once had a $1700 prize pool. Obviously I'm down,I'm sure you'll be able to find some people who are down to come over and battle.


As a side note, the GRB did have entry fees. Most people don't want to pay to join a tournament.

This sounds like a great idea and a good way to produce buzz about this site...I'm down for sure and I can get my group members from the studio in on this too....let's get it...you could even make it bigger by doing like a qualifier for the tournament...unlees you want as many paople as possible in it....i'm down

I think any tournament for any amount of cash is good for the site, regardless how big or small. I like it. Something I would like to see is having a panel of judges. That way voting is consisitant and unbiased.

Shit, Jack has a point, that way no bitching about votes will take place. Maybe all the vets sit this out and be the pannel?

no offense to anybody, espcially not you Orf, but rookies would be murked regardless if this is promoted. Why should our vets step to the side and watch our rookies get murdered by a bunch of talented noobs?? Kinda seems pointless unless were having an elevation tournament.
