In my opinion, it depends on the person. I agree that most people that freestyle really are trash but for me, personally, I do a lot better than setting down and thinking about stuff so I'd prefer to freestyle. I guess if I was writing records for a LP, I'd set down and write but I'll never make a cd or sign a record label and I'm 100% straight with that. I guess the reason why a lot of people get into freestyling/keystyling is because it brings a more realistic approach to battle rapping. If you was in a club or on a street, you wouldn't have 24-48 hours to drop a verse so I can see both sides to that. I started freestyling because I thought it would improve my writing abilities but didn't. Instead of improving one method it became another option. I also agree wit people that claim to freestyle but it's prewritten. That's garbage and sad.

yeah you can be all well worded but your talking a shit gambit saying freestlying has ruined hip hop.. WHEN FREESTYLING IS HIP HOP, its were it started, its were it came from..

i would just like to point out that biggie, jay-z, on others "freestyle" in the booth and killed it. they never wri/ote a word but create an entire song in their head before they walk in and spit it

yeah you can write, so can every other mofucka with a pad and a pen. but can you make music, can you flow. oviously you cant freestyle as the jealousy breathes through you. but shit man dont try to knock others just cause you lacking in the skills department of a real emcee
