Arise from the Ashes

Here's another track that once in the final form will definitely be on my upcoming CD. The beat is by Herb-One, a good friend of mine from the US, living in Beijing now. The main verse is in it's final form I think, but in the breakdown section I need to figure out something to do there, and I need to re-record that last short verse at the end.

busy beat. i like it. haha. delivery is ill man. you got some good patterns in it. speed it up, then slow it down........then fast again. thats my shit right there. i cant really say you sound like anyone. you have your own steez which is awesome bro cus alotta cats soundin like each other nowadays. like i mentioned on another of ur tracks, the fact that its rough, takes away from it. that breakdown, needs to be breakin down an taken out! haha maaaan i dunno what the hells goin on there but im sure you can come up wit somethin alot better an catchier. might wanna toss some adlibs to back up your verses. i find that it keeps the flow alive a lil more. props on the beat again. good hip hop feel to it.

Thanks for your thoughtful response there Loon, it is much appreciated. Yeah, I gotta figure out somethin to do with that breakdown section, my friend who made the beat actually recorded those basic vocals in that section just to give a kinda vocal backdrop to whatever I end up droppin into that part, but I really haven't been happy with anything I've tried to slide into that slot. So I figured I'd upload the song in an unfinished state, in the hope that maybe someone would have an idea for what I could do to enhance that breakdown. I've never been very good at figuring out hooks and breakdown sections in songs, I tend to dedicate my time pretty much exclusively to the verses. Trying to expand my horizons into become better with hooks, etc though...

Your flow reminds me a lot of Del. Def has an 80's vibe to it. Beat was nice. I like those drum fills.

As for that breakdown: I actually like the second half of it. The first half, though, is harsh on the ears. I don't know if you can do it but I think some scratching would go in there real nice. Maybe take a sample from the voice and scratch it up or something.

i like the beat even though its busy as fuck. i dont think your vocals are mixed accordingly with the beat though. id like to hear you on a slower beat, so i can really get the feel of your mic presence. your flow aint that bad but definitely can tighten it up in some areas, you try to go fast and then lose the pronunciation a little bit, gets hard to understand what your trying to say. overall man it aint bad but some things need work. seems like the vocals need to be turned up a bit too. keep doin ya thing though man.

This beat was awful, sorry lol, but it was unlistenable. And then because of this crazy beat your flow was all over the place. Not feeling this song
