Even in principal, wont/dont save hip-hop.
Let me just raise some good points. That most of you will agree with.
1. Nas doesn't have the leverage anymore
Let me start off with saying that Nas lately has been spitting fire.
But you have to acknowledge my points of view.
He isn't breaking into the game. This isn't 93. Or w/e. Its 06.
In my humble opinion the only way the game can be changed
is by a new wave. How many of you remember Ricky The Dragon
Steamboat (the wrestler). He was fucking great. He made
wrestling enjoyable to watch when it was wrestling.
Now imagine if he went into the WWE today. He would still be great.
The old fans would still respect him. He would pick-up a few new ones.
But he still wouldn't have much of an effect. Also in the same
analogy. He can't do his old moves. This was a quite long
winded analogy, but it raises some good points. Besides if
I see a dramatic difference in the way Nas is approaching his final
albums. I don't expect the game to be changed. No Pun intended!
2. Lupe isn't interesting.
He is following the same path as kayne west. Can't you see it? Album
was a lot better. But think when Kayne broke out. He just isn't inspiring.
Real talent though.
3. Ice Cube
Where is Dre? I don't care if you drop 20 albums Ice Cube. Anyone who
honestly thinks Ice Cube who put Lil Jon on his album. Really cares to save
hip-hop. I think he is satisfied where it is. And just loves hip-hop
and wants to make some albums. And w/e low number his last one sold
will be the same for every other one. If you think different your a fucking
retard.
4. Jay Z
Ok. Ok. The Mc of 90's. Who took his leverage from the 90's and forced
every kid with ears to learn the lyrics to Big Pimpin. Comes back from
his hiatus ( though hiatus would imply that he didn't rap) hmm? Great!
I want the album. Will DL as soon as it comes out. See what I said.
I will download it. There is no reason I want the higher quality, better sound, etc.
I just see a repeat of Black Album. Which was only dropped 2 fucking years ago!
( Jay-Z - You idiot it should take longer than that to come out with an album).
Honestly though does it matter if it was a duplicate of "reasonable doubt". Not
exactly. We've heard it all before. And Jay-Z could do nothing more then duplicate
his success with that album. In my opinion. That could be argued. The more
important part is "jay-z, is what hip-hop is today you moron!" He wants money.
90 percent of his songs have references to making more money.
This is a recent dmx quote. I think its fittin.
"The flip-flops - he's just not the same...thugs don't do flip-flops," he added. "Yo, no matter how much vacation I'm on - we been to St. Thomas, Bahamas, all the little islands - I don't wear no flip-flops. I'm never that comfortable, not even in my own house," X explained"
I challenge you to send me a song where he raps about "lets save hip-hop, take it back to when their was substance. Allow me to define substance real quick, substance can be real life, etc. It doesn't have to be rapping about World Issues.".Come on now. I encourage people to cop this album, because it will beat out whats being put out in the mainstream. But if you honestly think this album will change the game more then ghost face scale fish. Your wrong.
