i dont even want to see cool edit listed here..

im looking for anyone that knows a reliable source for pro tools or anythin close enough to it, i'll be needing it to possibly record soon, and it'd be nice to have with me wherever i go on a flash drive, if you could PM me a link to a torrent or anything like it that'd be appreciated,

The pro tools software won't work without some form of digidesign hardware. I have an Mbox 2 which was $300 by itself but I do believe there is one other product that's slightly cheaper and allows for the use of pro tools

If you're hell bent against cool edit pro/adobe audition, I'd suggest getting Steinberg Nuendo. It's not exactly as user friendly though.

You may catch shit from it from "producers", but there isn't anything I haven't been able to do with FL Studio 9. I can hook you up with a free cracked full version if you like. Version 9 seems to have been geared more toward hip-hop judging by the new sound packs, but its definitely more techno friendly. Easy interface to learn, easy controls, supports MIDI and all that shit so you can record live instruments and vocals. I just prefer to record with Cool Edit because its extremely easy, especially if you're just mashing vocals with an instrumental.

This thread is for recording programs, not beat-making programs. Yes I'm aware that pro tools has midi, I'm just going off the original post
