Text Battling

I'm just curious, but why is text battling the only aspect of writing that allows extremely long bars? And then you have flow as a voting category. I just don't understand how and why lines longer than my nose became an acceptable standard in text battling, especially when all the extra shit is irrelevant and usually forced multies. What happened to writing battle verses like you would for audio? First line setup, second line punch. Times have changed cuz when I battled, that shit didn't fly. Discuss.

i Think Only certain People Make Use Of Stretched Bars Well...Like Ive Noticed On JDR and on Cee 4 Theyll Try To Punch On Every Line...So It Seems Like They Packing Double The Punches...But Most Just Do It For The Multies it seems

Right, it just doesn't seem right that you have a set bar limit, yet dudes are just using bars that in audio form would be 2 bars in one. So yeah, a 12 bar text battle verse is the same length as a 24 bar regular verse. Yet people don't care.

if you have noticed like on these Grindtime shows n shit the bars are alot longer because it's acapella so that is probably the same scenario when they're writing for a battle and shit my bars are like stretched all the time so it's no change for me lol

@360. He'd consider your bars long.

Something that you're not considering is that most battle rappers do write with a whole shit load of filler and multis then come with the punch. If you wrote out live freestyle battle raps the bars would be very long. Like think about thesaurus he raps RHYME, RHYME, RHYME, RHYME, RHYME, punch. The rhyming is just as important if not more important than the actual punch just because he's trying to wow the crowd with how he's putting it all together.

Battle raps in general are known to be unorthodox. And I don't think any of us want to write out a lot of dudes battle verses on here.
