Hiddy hiddy ho chumps
I’m bringin’ mo lumps than mash potatoes
Thought you got rid of the kid… well if you say so
I’m cribbity creepin...
creepin through this forest like Jason
Un-maskin’ fake niggaz, droppin bricks like a mason
Higgity “hey vern”
I’m burnin’ tricks like Ernest wit matches
Haha-haha-ha you’re silly punches keep a bitch laughin’
Smashin… and Crashin thru your zone, Jerome Bettis
I bet this… style will take off like flu infections
Droppin bars like Tetris… till I coa-coa caban-you
Wit spits from out of this world like “nano.. nano”
So mommy change the channel
And kid get off your mantel…pathetic
Your rhymes are synthetic like that flannel
Ziggity “Zoiks” I stay Semper Fi’d to this style
So figgity fuk off and have Coke and smile…

LOL

You know, it's so amazing. The years of "Lords of the Underground, Fushnickens, Das Efx, and EPMD, are all gone... replaced with trailer trash rappers, and bling bling thugs.
And the message boards follow right behind... I can't tell the difference between most of your styles.. all of them are punchline, word play forced.. with no flow and no character... no different from the next beside you.
I put the age range of most of you cats between 14-19 because the closest you got to understanding anything I posted in this is Quagmire.
I'll step back in to my timeshell and leave you guys be...

but just for a second, broaden your horizon and step outside of the "multies" and "punchlines".

My posts will be more educational from this point, you guys not feelin' the "diggity" style.

Ah, you're one of them... Sorry, I don't fit the label you're throwing out. I'm 27 and know all of them groups you listed. And you're right, those days are gone. There are a few groups still trying to rekindle that flame though. I definitely got that vibe from the new People Under The Stairs album. The point is, probably 80% of the cats checking these hip-hop forums are "battlers" and do fall into the age group you listed. Some do have some knowledge of hip-hop's Golden Age, but its a select few. The problem that I had with this verse here isn't its simplicity or lack of multies and punchlines. This verse does have a playful, old school vibe to it, but nobody is trying to READ that. They want to HEAR it. So yes, you're going to get a lot of negative feedback posting a verse like this. There seems to be a universal standard as to what constitutes a good written verse, but there really are no rules when it comes to recorded shit. I think this would work really well over an old school beat like some De La Soul or old Tribe shit. But really, what did you expect people to say when you posted this? You can still capture that old school vibe and mix it with some more creative lyricism and have the best of both worlds. Anyways, my apologies for the rant. I think a little more clarification regarding your intentions would have prevented a lot of misunderstanding. Regardless, the rhymes are still extremely simplistic and the rhyme schemes themselves aren't very well executed. Take it for what its worth.

Decent verse. Nice effort for using an old school style, but the verse needs a little work. Multies can improve. Flow was sometimes there, other times it wasn't. Keep 'em comin' though.

I agree with you Mass...
The textcee here could have flowed a bit better. Use of the syllables was off in a few lines. Sounded thrown together... wait a minute, i'm critizin' myself.. setting the precedent.

Now that I see what your tryna do
it makes sense although you miss the dire days
we cannot see it getting back into the diggidy days
I mean I am not upset its like that when I first heard a few rappers use those styles I was like wow...
this is refreshing and I would like to hear more
but then you grow and learn more positive things in Hip Hop
i.e. the Common Sense's, Public Enemies, N.W.A's and so on
although reluctant on schooling for myself
I agree that some people need to be shown a earlier path
to help...evolve themselves at which point I find very helpful
you sir are a smooth operator word to daddy kane
