when i first start a project the sound quality is usually fine no matter how many patterns or effects i use. after i save it and open it up again, some patterns have random pops n clicks that annoy the shit outta me.no clue how to fix it either. i even tried cloning the channel nd pasting the notes n still nothing. any help?

Hmmm.... which version do you have Fl studio 6, 7, or 8. I have both 7 and 8. What I come to notice is that 8 pops and cracks a lot if you add a lot of effects, high quality plugins, vsti and shit to the projects. Its probably because that program uses a lot of RAM... moreso than 7 (which I use most of the time). 8 sounds slighty better tho.
In short u have 2 options. Either only use fl studio 8 and not use anything else while producing like the net, windows media player or whatever. Or you can add more RAM to your computer (which Is the ideal option). Usually a cpu comes with about a half a gigabyte of RAM with it. But as you download shit like virus scaners, adobe, and other shit... they run as long as the cpu is on so that'll use RAM regardless. So .... adding more means more for other shit like fl 8.
I never get the crackin in FL studios 7. However, with the crackin of FL Studio 8, it still converts in wav and mp3 files that are clean! No pops or cracks.
Its just the play back that pops cause of generation of the effects and info and playback at the same time.
A stronger soundcard won't hurt either! No sound blaster shit.

yeah i tried exportin a semi complete project as an mp3 jus to see if i wud still hear the pops n shit n they still there. lol mite sound stupid, how do i add more ram to my computer? if i jus clean out my computer of all the shit i dont need will that help?
no money for a soundcard either. yeah i got the fl studio 8 demo then got the crack for producer edition. the tracks that give me this bullshit are house/electronic type joints too... i used a house template to start off with, so do u think if i removed all the busses and mixer functions it might help?
also, theres 2 other accounts on my pc that aren't in use... if i deleted those would it help?

Hmmm... well to add RAM u must open the cpu up and insert the new RAM card in there. There are limits to how much a cpu can handle to but if you don't know what that limit is, I suggest adding another 512mB (half a gigabyte). Cleanin the cpu of junk files and shit also helps. The other accounts could cause a problem too if they have unique system functions attached to them that u can access unless in that account.
U can press clt+alt+delete and see what all u have running at any given time along with how much memory its using. Processes is what its called.
Add cards into you cpu is easier than u think. The instructions that come with the cards tell u all u need to know.

if its in the mp3 its not cause of ram/cpu, FL may slow down rendering a high ram/cpu section but it wouldn't render the noises it'd make when playing them live, its either some sound is clipping, to see if its that watch the mixer and see if any of the meters go into the red if they do some sound or the track as a whole is too loud, if thats not the cause then it's most likely something in one of the sounds thats making the noise (meaning theirs a clipping/popping sound in one of the sounds your using)

yeah but the pops only happen if theres mad shit goin on at once. if i isolate a pattern n play it, no pops. if i play it along with 8 automations, 7-9 other patterns in the playlist, nd a shitload of mixer effects, then it starts givin me problems... usually i jus play all the patterns individually to load them, then i go thru the mixer nd exit all the effect windows i dont need open, nd that works to an extent, but i still cant use alot of automation w/o the shit fuckin up. when i render as an mp3 file, that window wit renderin options comes up.. nethin i cud do there to improve sound quality? im thinkin increase the bit rate?

ive ran into shit like that before...i always went back n fucked with them all n their levels and tried again...it can also have somethin to do wit RAM/CPU and or sound card....or both communicating with eachother...or the sounds/instruments just dont mesh well or suck...lol

Its a definite annoyance....... i usually encounter this when i cut loops & use certain vsti.. namely east west.
Best way to fix it is probably buy a decent hardware mixer that has pre sets to master things like pops & crackles.
Alternatively, just go back and fix the error till you're satisfied.
If in the end you cant remove it.... it doesnt belong there so just delete it from the project.

Gp to audio settings, and for output it should NOT say "Primary Sound Driver". You should have ASIO4ALL if you do not use FireWire or any of those sorts of plugins. I have FL9 and if you look online it should be easy as hell to find, or if anyone else has the link for it. My FL9 did the same clicking thing unless I put the Audio Output (at top of "Audio Settings" page) on ASIO4ALL.
