Sure...well as far as the rar file goes...that's a compressed file in a nutshell.... you need something like winZip or better yet winRAR to unzip (uncompress) the file.

Remember to unzip it to a folder u want it to be in so when I comes time to find/use the files, you know where to go.

Now as far as using the sounds. You open fl studios up. Whether for a new project or an existing one, the steps are the same. You go to the "channels" menu and go to add one and in that menu u select audio clip. That will create a channel in your pattern shit called "audio clip." Now at this point u right click that new channel and click "load sample..." in the small menu that pops. Afterwards, u then search you computer for your desired file. Keep in mind that the first thing u'll see is the patches folder for fl studio so just click "my documents" if the sound u lookin for isn't some default sound from fl studio. After clickin my documents you just navigate your way to the desired file and click it.

You can even use it in the piano roll if u need to.

Anymore fl studio questions, send em my way. Im very familiar with it

heres some more tips

while what cuttin said is 100% accurate you're much better off just putting the packs in program files/image-line/fl studio 8/data/patches/packs (its the default browser path) then just load straight from the side browser into the sequencer, plus in the side browser when ever you click on any wav or mp3 it'll play the sound so you can hear what you're playing before adding it into a channel

if the packs aren't wav's or mp3's they may be vsts, if theirs an exe file included run that and install it, if theres a dll you should put the folder (all files included) in the fl vst folder or put them in the default vst folder program files/vstplugins

they also may be soundfonts (they'll end in .sf2) you should just do the same with them as the wav's you can't preview them in the browser by clicking so you'll have to add them in a channel to hear what they sound like

another tip to access all the fl vst presets, in the side browser there should be a folder called plugin presets, after you go into that click on generators then their'll be a list of all the plugins, just click to open one of the folders their'll be .fst files there just click right click open in a new channel and it'll open up the plugin to that preset, theres also more in a folder called channel presets access them the same way

like cuttin said feel free to ask any questions about FL on here i've been using it for a few years now
