Ive been through this before so im not gonna debate about religion with a couple of people whos half of them havent reached puberty yet and the other half are so fixed on keeping there current relgion ,because of fear of denying all those beliefs they once strongly had , and of the fear of being hated by there society if they do so. It seems some prefer being cool and gangsta rather than having some time alone and have an unbiased open minded thought about the universe and maybe some research about religion just incase any of that stuff you always hear about being tortured in hell till eternity is true.

On a sidenote , im a muslim. And I gree with everything drunken jesus said.

you made a few good points, as much as people like to think they are openminded most of the time they are just as closeminded as the people that they think are stubborn

look at any development in history 95% of the time the person(s) behind were going against the grain and were openminded, they didn't just believe things are the way they are for no specific reason they thought beyond the normal spectrum of whats accepted as being possible

one person may view someone as a terrorist and another may view them as a revolutionary the only difference is a persons point of view, if the group fails they're viewed as terrorists, if they have success they are viewed as revolutionarys, if anybody thinks against the grain society views them as bad and through media and any other available method they put them down and try to make them seem as horrible as possible, in america muslims are viewed in a bad light with no specific reason besides a few terrorist attacks, anybody that isn't christian will always have more trouble being accepted in this society than anybody that is, anybody that criticizes bush is viewed as a disloyal citizen even though this country is supposedly ran by the people, so it would make no sense not to criticize the leader if hes doing something we don't agree with, exspecially when 70% of the country feels the same way

as much as this country trys to deny and downplay it, the seperation of church & state isn't ever going to happen this country, or in any other country really, its unrealistic, as intelligent as a society is, the majority of the society would never be able to fuction without being told what to think, if they had to think for themselves their brains would explode

thats the main point i was trying to make with this thread, people don't think for themselves enough, they don't even know why they think what they do, they just think the way they do because its acceptable, i've never followed anything, i question everything, as foolish as it may sound if more people in the world thought like me it'd be a much better place, never thinking beyond the status of something the way it is hinders development, it applys to everything music, art, society, technology, science, creativity is hindered whenever people fear change and prefer a conservative outlook on things

there is no such thing as seperation of church and state in the constitution. Our country and its laws are BASED on judeo-christian beliefs.

no, it does not state that. Try and find it, it doesnt exist. That line, which people take completly out of context, was in a letter Thomas Jefferson had written.

and where in there is the seperation of church and state? that is basically saying that the government cannot create a religion and force people to be a part of it. ie the church of england.
