i still don't see luda as a complete southern artist.. i know he was raised there and represents it, but still wasn't born there, and lyrically i'd classify his lyrics in a midwest section,

does Peruvian artists like immortal technique count as southern?

Best artist out of the South is Phonte from Little Brother. Dude can tear it up with the best of em but stays below the mainstream radar. As far as mainstream is concerned, Ludacris shits on every cat from the South lyrically. His metaphors and similies are witty as hell and he has a playful style.
