You can both enjoy a certain artist and understand that they are ruining hip hop. Life is full of contradictions, don't be afraid to admit them. Just because you love the movie "Scream 44" doesn't mean that you have to want the direction hollywood to put out a bunch of cheesy horror film knockoffs.

that doesn't make sense Plex....because if people want the same thing over and over
don't you think that they'd get sick of it? I mean you can't eat ice cream for the rest of your life
someday you might want something else, would you go for it?
hell yea you would cuz your sick of ice cream

How can you guys keep dissecting Hip Hop though?
I mean for real you guys always take the good side of Hip Hop
and try to place it in it's own box, I mean...why?
Hip Hop WOULDN'T be complete without some trashy music
the trashy music draws people in and then you hear the album
I mean what was your expectations when you first heard My Name Is?
what did you guys think when you heard Hard Knock Life?
I mean come on, you can't just take apart Hip Hop for your own needs
sometimes you just need to throw on something else and realize wow, I like this
I mean all of you have got to LOVE Will Smith, you have got to LOVE Public Enemy
you got to LOVE Biz Markie, you got to LOVE KRS, come onnnn

Are you trying to win a speeding test? That's not at all what I said. I simply was commenting on the discussion that happened in the last few posts about enjoying non-lyricists.

what's considered hip hop nowadays to most of the world should really just have a new name, like you said.. you get sick of it.. so listen to somethin else.. call it dick flop cause it's as limp as an old man, just one man's opinion though, it'd be one thing if it elevated...it's going backwards instead, hip hop was an art...expressing yourself and your life with words of poetry that may or may not have a complex rhymescheme, it's always been about image but this is just ridiculous....to respond to qwarterz...icecream has melted.. if it's something new.. rename the damn thing, look at rock.. u have 50 different versions... hard rock, soft rock, alternative, punk rock, grunge, rock itself, then u have shit that pretty much sounds like it such as metal, heavy metal emo, screamo, bean hole, ect.ect.

now there's rap, crunk, hip hop, and u can call today's hip hop dick flop...

....the mainstream world of hiphop sucks..no argueing needed, now i dont think that every artist in it sucks, but what they're doing is just garbage, feeding the fans something that they keep begging for, its the same reason why mtv doesn't really play music videos anymore,

soo...you wanna know who killed hip hop????

FANS LIKE YOU KILLED HIP HOP!!

What an interesting subject. I have this convo with friends all tha time. There's so many things that can be said that it is like discussin a religion like explained earlier...So here's me 2 cents worth as I come from the Ice-T, Public Enemy, N.W.A and KRS one era. My PERSONAL opinion is that there's two different styles. East coast and west coast. East is more party flavor with tha grind to it. Where as west is more gangsta that'll crash a party lol...but they're different, well atleast I notice the difference.

Hip hop will never die as long as the underground remains alive and it always will. Hip hop is so popular the comercialise it by tryin to emulate it with pop stars doing trax with rappers. Anbd because of these collabs is why the statement that hip hop is dead. That an most artist these days just talk about crap.

I don't think its fair to say that the rappers on the charts suck and help kill hip hop, RUN DMC, Public Enemy, Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls and Eminem are all artists who have been on the charts and you can't tell me they aren't true hip hop lyrcists....specially run DMC man, they put hip hop on tha map long before Jay Z even picked up a mic....

But in reality music in general is constantly changing and evolutionisin. It's jus in some cases not for the better. I mean, lets look at the dance/pop genre, Lady Gaga sux big time, that bitch is str8 up wierd and lyrics are to crappy and repetative, I like to call her Lady Kaka, (kaka means shit in spanish lol), but you see that in other genres music has gone crap as well.....

The answer has been on every page so once again^

Personally most of the music I listen to has came out since 2000. It's evolved but hasn't died. It's all taste.
