When I was young I use to think a bunch of MC's were way doper lyrically than the actually are and that kinda sticks with you. You need to actually listen to their music with an objective ear again and you will realize that they aren't as good as you thought.

Plex,

i do understand what your saying but i dont rank my favourite rappers based on their lyrical ability. i already said prodigy was below average lyrically as are a lot of my favourite rappers. for me its down to the quality of their music, how much good music they`ve put out, how many dope albums they have, how many classic tracks they have, their flow and their presence on the mic. its all about the sound. lyrical/multi ability is fine but if it dosent sound good to me or have replay value then i dont bump it. to me most of that underground shit sounds wack no matter how many multis they have. i couldnt bump it in the car or get a smoke to it..etc personally i prefer that 90`s east coast sound. but yeah i do understand where you are coming from. your all about the "art" so to speak and take it more seriously and probably analyse rappers lyrics more than me. a bunch of multis dosent impress me that much. we just have different ways of appreciating rap. personally i listen to more techno than i do rap mainly coz i dont like much rap thats came out since the millenium. im happy to enjoy music. i dont want to, or feel the need to give every rappers verse a critical breakdown.

and lol at hazard memorizing every post ive ever made. u got a file on me or something? i am the greatest! king kong aint got shit on me!!

Basically, I don't really judge on multis, I mean almost every rapper that I appreciate happens to use them, but I know tons of rappers who use them effectively that I don't consider lyrical. Anyway, your gist is correct.
