I don't think anyone can be labeled "best rapper alive". There's too many cats out there that we haven't heard yet and there's just too many styles. That's like saying who makes the best food or something. But, just to play along, I would have to say that Eminem is the best rapper alive today. I think he's probably one of the most versatile emcees as well. Just look at his track record, all of the different topics he's covered. I don't think he jacked anyone's style. On Infinite I'd say he reminded me of Nas or AZ, but he seemed to loosen up after Slim Shady and just kept getting meaner and more creative. Royce doesn't hold a candle to him. I think another big thing I like about him is that he doesn't claim to be the greatest rapper. There are cats that could tear him apart in every category, but there isn't a single rapper that can beat him in every category, therefore, I say he's the greatest.... for now.

His work is the most profound stuff ive ever heard on a track. Ever.
Honestly if you delve deeper into his work you'd be amazed. No joke.

im from chicago and i never slept on lupe and i agree with the ruckus he needs more material to be labeled something like that. i would say hes slept on and underrated but if you say hes the best rapper alive then ide say hes overrated.
krs-one a hip-hop school teacher recently said that aesop rock is his favorite hip-hop artist right now/ hes the best rapper in the game. im the biggest krs fan and aesop as well so when i heard him say that i was bumpin none shall pass like crazy when it came out. if you havent heard of aesop rock or listened to his shit. do it!
