Kanye is and always was garbage on the microphone. Granted, I'll give him credit for his production skills, but whoever gave him the green light to spit verses opened the flood gates for tragedy. Most of the beats he's made that I actually like are sample-derived. Regardless of that, I don't think anyone in the industry can touch 9th Wonder when it comes to sampling production. I'm growing increasingly bored of all of this autotune bullshit flooding the radio. It was cool when T-Pain came out and dropped some decent singles, but now with Lil Wayne doing the shit and Kanye jumping on the bandwagon, you can hardly tell who's who. A bunch of Roger Troutman wannabes if you ask me. Now THAT'S how you do it. Cats are running out of original ideas, hence the reason Kanye did this album. He stepped out of his comfort zone and is gonna get some pretty harsh criticism for it, which he obviously needs because the album fucking sucks. I'm sick of all these cats dropping albums just to line their pockets some more. Seems like there isn't a rapper out there who can top their debut album because they don't have the same hunger they did before they blew up. That's why I listen to underground shit.
