Fair enough.
your saying that its his unoriginality, or inability to come up with lyrics, that in itself doesn't make any sense, as wayne is one of the most prolific rappers of his era in terms of output.
He's creates so many songs, 1000's from albums, mixtapes, freestyles and remixed - verses by dj's. 99% of which is his own material, and then the other percentage (debateable) which he says anothers lyric, which could be biten, a reference or a coincidence.
If he couldn't come up with his own lyrics and had a small amount of output, then a case could be put forward to take seriously. But as is, he's got so much of his own material, and he's doing so well (a milli in the first week), spitting a line or two (in the grand scheme of things) isn't going to change anything about him, not gonna make him richer or more well known etc. Which would be a more classic "biters" aim.
He already massive in hip hop, everyone knows who he is, the repeated lyrics have not had an impact on his career or propelled him to super stardom. What would he have to gain from conciously "biting" lyrics??
My opinions of couse.

thats what i was trying to say.MagicMark wrote:
and as jay z does (ill get the vid in a min) its like giving a shout out to the great rappers, by quoting a Famous line of there's, he usually says it in a different tone, as if its in quotations. (apparently the jay z vid is gone, anyways just the same as the wayne vid, a long list of him with the same lines as big l, eminem, big etc etc.)
and its plain wayne makes so many songs, half these bitten ones are off mixtapes etc, where he just doing his thing, not like he's making billions off other peoples work, when he's literally making 3-4 songs a day.
Kurse.
Not saying your not.
but if you were as dedicated to hip hop like he is than ud be puttin out a couple tracks a day.
i mean there is only so much a rapper can come up with nowadays because either someone already said it or it dont make sense.
the only way around that is to "take" another lyricists words and re word in a way. yes he may have said line for line but like i said before.
maybe its his "remix" of it.
the way he thinks would ALSO sound good.

ur missin Kurse's point. point blank Wayne IS NOT original and used OTHER artists material, therefore in Kurse's eyes as well as mine and many others wayne is a biter. if u wanna like wayne fine thats cool, but understand he pratically used whole songs from other ppl. and + he has a ghost writer that helps him too. [well last i know he did im not sure if at this exact point in time he does but he has before] anyways Kurse's point makes sense. if its not ur work then dont use it. is that hard to understand or somethin? i dont believe so.

I'm not arguing Wayne's 'progress' in the game so-2-speak...it's obvious that he gets hella features on tracks with other names and that he make's money.
And as far as my amount of tracks...I've only been doin rap for 3 years. So ofcourse I'm not goin to have thousands of tracks floating around out there. But I have written alot more verses, songs, hooks and concepts that never met the booth. I literally have books of written material that I just never took the time to record. (Viral, Ekoms, HKX and everyone can vouch...they've literally seen my books in person) It's pretty rediclous. I write EVERYDAY. I do this fulltime.
But it's not about me.
My point is...that even if Wayne doesn't bite lyrics 98% of the time...there are still artists out there that bite less than that. 2% is already more than I'm willing to bite. I'd never RE-MIX another artists lyrics, THIS AIN'T AMERICAN IDOL BIOTCH, I don't wanna make it my own.
There's a difference in wanting to make sumthin my own...
..and just plain ol' making my own in general.
Sure...it may not have hurt his career from a monetary standpoint, but don't think that the respect level from some artists hasn't gone down toward Wayne because of it. There are artists out there who just WON'T work with Lil Wayne, even if given the opportunity. Sometimes reputation is worth more than money.
