Re: ShysT - Master of Deception

Ok ok, beats a nice selection, where you from? accent purposes. Lyricism is pretty dope, delivery as well. I felt it was a good choice of words and delivery, but fell a little short on emotion. The way you write seems to be very structured , which displays nicely on the flow, but at the same time, some more drastic switches would be dope. Rapping out of Ontario... forget the accent question. Its pretty straight forward man, but the style gets rather played into it some. Switches are dope feature to have as a emcee. I want to say the quality is good, but i felt something wrong in my ears when it came to your vocals against the beat. Not sure what it is though, almost as if all your vocals are raised up to the same amount, so no drops or attacks are there. Not quite sure really... Good shit none the less. Just add some emotion and it'd be solid.-- Thu Feb 03, 2011 4:05 pm --
how do i get rid of this post now...what a fucked up site.

Awesome shit dude. Has a DMX style to the flow. Same here with the emotion aspect of the lyrics you spit. A track should be like a film. You need those ups and downs that keep people anticipating what's gonna happen next. The voict doubling also, I thought, Should have been saved for the chorus only. That would have seperated it more and elevated the message behind it. The vocals were good and clear to read but there was something about the mixing that made them stand out to much against the beat. Those minor technical things aside you have a solid talent for hitting the beat with timing precision. Good work dude. Fix those things and this one is ready for the airwaves.
Make it Take it.

Ok, Beat Started Off Weird At First, But When It Finally Came In, I Started To Vibe To it. Production Is Off. You're REALLY Overpowering This Beat. Drop Your Vocals Down. A Little More Energy As Well. Ya Delivery Is On Point. A Couple Times I Can Hear Your Voice Fading In And Out, Weaving Are We? Lol. Hook Needs Some Work. I Couldn't Tell It Was Until It Repeated. And Also, Watch how You Repeated It, Your Vocals Ended Soft, And On The Repeat Came In Hot (Loud). 2nd Verse Sounds Good, Multis Are Present Decently. . .Ooohhh, 2nd Hook Came In Rough! Watch That Fam. . .3rd Verse Is Probably My Fav. I Liked How You Shouted Ya Home Out. Good Vocab Use Throughout The Song Too. Anyways, Watch Your Mixing And How You Drop The Hooks.
. . .If It Ain't Audio, Don't Ask Me To Vote. . .

Re: ShysT - Master of Deception
ya flow is actually pretty sick man, u are overpowering the beat a lil bit and ur delivery needs to better, such as switchups and voice inflections on certain words etc. but I feeln it, the chorus is ok but could be better...not bad man keep it up...

Beats good, flow is good, recording quality is shit though, beef up that mic and you'll be able to work with something good.

1st, who made this beat? Really feeling it, love to get a copy or name if anyone has
2nd, your flow is off on the first couple bars on your first verse, sounded like u stumbled, might want to fix that
3rd, When you were flowing in that first verse, the flow and pattern was dope, then you started saying fuck like 2 or 3 times in a row, and it really stands out cause you never had lines with that before (your voice got louder when you said fuck)Me personally, I always like to use explicit lyrics as a last resort, keep that flow going for 8 bars, then switch it up 4 bars 4 bars then hook.
4th, Make the hook sound more different from your verses, like maybe lower it or add a echo layer, or something to make it tell the listener that this is the hook, pay attention. Only way I knew it was a hook was after my first play through, maybe add some melody to the beat or maybe a drum sequence to bring that to life.
Overall, pretty decent track, like the beat, definately sounds a little unpolished in places (why wouldnt you just relay one of the verses before you share it to people?).

Aye, i'm feeling the track. Could push the vocal down ~2-2.5 dB and use some thing to make the hook different from the rest.
