Seekin' for the Beacon

Post by IntrinsicCadence »

I'm reflecting on whether or not to include this one on my upcoming CD. Its in a rough draftish form, it was originally gonna be the final draft, but I think I could improve the delivery a bit, and the vocal volume needs to go up a bit. And I just noticed it fades out abruptly at the end, and that's not supposed to happen. But in general this is the track in it's close to final draft form. Comments appreciated...

Hey yo Loon, again much appreciation on the feedback here. I'm hearin' what ur sayin bout waiting to post the final draft form, but sometimes I'm a little impatient and wanna get an idea for what tracks cats are most feelin, so I post up a few tracks that are on the cusp between making the cut and having a place on the CD I'm putting together or getting left behind. If it seems to have positive responses I'm more likely to dedicate more time into the production process on that one. I've got hundreds of these kinda semi-rough draft recordings and I'm not quite sure which ones to really dedicate my time to, so figure ya'll illest people would be helpful to my own reflection process.

By the way, I forgot to mention, this beat is not made by me, it's made by DJoe...

I can't listen to this right now as I'm at work but I just had to say: I saw the word beacon in recent topics and I just knew this post had to be from you, Cadence.

I'll edit this later with some feed.

The beat is dope, really feeling it. The Lyrics are nice, the flow and delivery I'm really diggin it. But everything I really got to say was said by Loon, so there is not much left for me too say.

Keep Up.

I would like to hear your vocals a little higher, no doubt. But I like the feel of it. You switch and catch up with yourself well, not sure if you are meaning to to do that or not... Overall I like this. Its got a good feel to it, but sometimes it seems like you are cramming in too many syllables. Just in a couple spots.

Def reminds me of some old Del shit. Flow was nice. The biggest advice I can offer is UP THE VOCALS. Beat was tight. Ending was a bit abrupt. A short piece over all but I was def feeling it. Left me wanting more.

I've been listening to a lot of old Del recently and am starting to hear why a lot of people seem to be comparing a few of my songs to his. Some of his older tracks have beats with somewhat similar instrument arrangements that this beat has, and I think I use internal rhyming in a somewhat similar style as him as well. Cuz I've been getting a shitload of Del comparisons recently...
