Now Hip-Hop always featured some of this. Think gangsta error. Chino Xl was saying hip-hop sucks in 1997. Others before it. Its not that Hip-Hop hasn't had all of this before. Its just now all the combinations of lack luster hip-hop are together. Now if your going to just make hits to get drunk to. Call it PARTY MUSIC.

My problem is I can't figure out for the life of me why anyone would listen to music about celebrities talking about their high profile life style through out a whole record. I guess that's what MTV is all about. Seeing the life of celebrities. That shit don't interest me at all.

At least if your making music about killing someone. You can be creative, tell a story. Yet you have an artist like game. Who uses absolutely no creativity. He just tells you he is going to kill you.

When I get a cd. I expect to find something different on the record. I don't want to know exactly what I'm getting. (think Nas stillmatic, political songs, songs in rewind, diss tracks, about streets of Ny, philosophical song, arrogant song). Yet If i were to get an album from Lil Jon. I know for a fact I would just get 15 songs of him telling me to GET Crunk. Their is nothing appealing to me about that.

I'm not going to argue with anyone. Saying that I don't listen to music that has been dumbed down. I mean I like Jay Z right? But if you dumb it down so much that the crack head on the block is hitting her rock all day listening to it. I don't even want to be acknowledged for liking hip-hop. That shit is just embarrassing.

Now before you jump on me about dissing southern rap. You would actually be making your own conclusions. Thats not my opinion. You will realize that the list I made at the top for the reasons hip-hop is dead. Yet its a pretty diverse group of people. You might not agree with everyone I listed. Though I have a motive for each one. And will explain from my perspective.

I understand that people like different music. Nothing wrong with that. Just remember when you get to the roots of hip-hop. Its not like what it is today. If hip-hop is going to be changed then maybe your genre. Us true hip-hop people stick to hip-hop.

This subject in reality is quite complex. There is no way we are going to please everyone on this message board. Or is this debate going to be settled for a long time. Its cool to talk about it though with a level head. You can look at the situation from someone else's perspective.

wtf'd you put q-tip on there for? have you listened to his music?

i wouldn't put will smith on there either, he had a good message even though some of his shit was corny, his new album was actually fairly good, since the mid to late 90's hes been more into movies than music

the main reason hip hop is dead is lack of creativity, nobodys original they're just gimmicks or imitations of whats hot

i'd add neptunes, missy, & timbaland to that list too

Yah. I mainly added Will Smith because of shit like "men in black". Taking hip-hop in that direction. I dont really respect it, making hip-hop appealing to six year olds. I mean that shit is about as cool as aaron carter. I still respect some stuff he does. Don't get me wrong. I added Q-Tip because the last time I saw something good from him was in the late 90's. Maybe I'm blind. And I think I'm pretty sure I recently some him on mtv spitting some blasphemy. I could be wrong.

q-tips last album was produced by j dilla i'm fairly sure so i dunno really what you're talking about

q-tip had that one song uh vibrant thing i think that was kinda pop-ish but it wasn't mike jones level of wackness

you do know hes from a tribe called quest? right? he went solo after they broke up but hes never really made too many wack songs, hes made more abstract shit than anything

how do i change my sig? or did you jew lock me out from doing that too

wow, you might as well say the south killed hip hop...but no for one thing wayne writes his own shit..gillie corrected himself on a youtube sayin that he helped wayne and taught wayne but he didnt ghost write for wayne.. and as far as the people that should be there..ja rule isnt wack thats just what 50 cent made him look like...hes nice, classic 50 isnt wack neither..classic game isnt wack either...q-tip and juvenile isnt wack either..you're statin opinions because to the south juve is an idol i guess you can say...dont you think people in the south want to listen to something they can relate too...so i think you should do a lil research before judgin every southern or rapper period because they all brought something to the plate...nelly for instance.

wayne can rap, but he can't write for shit, he has trouble staying on topic for a verse, let alone a track

plus hes fake as hell, anyone from around N.O. will tell you that, he never sold drugs or has even been in the hood

i can't take a bisexual studio thug seriously

field mobb > lil wayne
ludacris > lil wayne
chamillionaire > lil wayne
magno > lil wayne
scarface > lil wayne
bun b > lil wayne
juvenile > lil wayne
clipse > lil wayne

i could go on all day, i listen to southern rappers, just not bisexual studio thug ones

Hey Idiot. Don't you realize I'm talking as a fan and not a rapper. Are you that blinded by stupidity? T
you're statin opinions because to the south
No Way. I thought this was scientifical evidence. Gathered by x number of wack rhymes. Of course its an opinion. I fucking wrote it up as an opinion column. To give people something to debate about.
ja rule isnt wack thats just what 50 cent made him look like...hes nice, classic 50 isnt wack neither..classic game isnt wack either...q-tip and juvenile isnt wack either
Alright Q-Tip Will Be Tooken Off My OPINIONATED LIST.
I listened to Juvnenile all through middle school.Juvenille may look nice on that list but not on other ones. So don't get me started. Ja rule is a fucking disgrace to hip-hop. I knew that before I knew who 50 cent is.

-----
I named a lot of southern rappers because thats who I could think of at the time. Trust me their are plenty from all over.
