Chapter 1. Intro To Text battling/Writing

There are many diffrent ways To Text battle and Write a verse, The More Time That passes with text Battling the more ways people find to do things diffrent. Though I am here to teach you the basics of Text Battling or Texting in Genral. Become Great or even Good at Texting takes a while, It comes to some quicker then others. So make sure you dont give up the moment you get poor feed or loose a battle. Everyone does their 1st time around, So Dont be Discouraged. Practicing Will always improve your skills over time. Through out the begining of you starting out, there will be many people who will Hate or Give you negitive Feed On your verse/Song Etc. Thats just the way things work, Just Remember To keep practicing and you will elevate. Lets get Started

Chapter 2.Creating Your Verse/Rhyme

Hip Hop/Rap Has alwayz been about the person you are, your oppions and the life that you Live. Many people often mistake it to be about shootings/killing/ and The Thug Life. That is becuase hip hop was started by Thugs and Gangsters, and that is what you will usealy hear people talking about when they rap. Though that doesnt mean you should too, You should only Rap about what you know or your creativeness. If you do live a thug lifestyle then there is no problem with you talking about it, Though I dont Recomend doing it online. It comes off as Fake and Unoriginal. The more creative you are, the more you will find people liking your verse/song. Rap can be about anything, If you find yourself having trouble writing or thinking of a creative Idea then take a moment from your life and put it on paper. Wheather it be about School, Your Girlfriend/Boyfriend, Death or your Parents getting a Divorce, Anything in life or your head that you will like to talk about. Then once you have you Idea you can starting writing and turn it into a Rap Form. The Content is very important to your verse/song. So always Remeber To Stay Creative and dont always go with what you think will sell or what is popular. Onto chapter 3.

Chapter 3. Imagery

This is a short chapter on Imagery, Imagery is very important in your verse/song. Especially if you want it to stand out. Imagery is when you are able to paint a picture with your lyrics. It makes it more possible to have a connection with your verse/song when people read it. Insted of having a blunt discripiton of what you are saying, make it More Elaborate then when you would Normally Describe it to someone.

Example 1.
I love this women very much

Ok, We know you love this a girl, but thats the end of it, We dont know how much or how strongly you feel about her, This is where imagery comes into play.

Example 2.
I love this woman with the passion of a Burning Sun.

You see, Just by adding that, You have upped a level of imagery, Now we understand that the way you feel about this woman is almost indescribable and you have very deep feelings for her.

As anything else I'm showing you, The more you use it and practice with it, the quicker you can master it, so there is a brief explanation of imagery for you.

Chapter 4.Structure and Flow

When People first start Texting Most have no idea how to word their verse or structure it, Most people who are just starting out will have verses that look like this.
Example 1.

Im the best
I kill the rest
My Style Is Great
Ive been rappin for dayz

If you notice there is no Flow to that. And By Flow I mean when you write a verse you are going to want it to flow and slide off your tongue without any effort. You can Do this by Simply Making your Lines Longer, But always Remember that you must have your 1st line be shorter then your second.

Example 2.

Everyone knows That I am The Best
I Kill All the Rest when I Put clips to their Chest
And i cant be denied that my style is Great
Ive been Flowin and rappin since the beginning of dayz

Now you can see how much better that sounded verses the 1st example. The reason is, I Made the lines longer and made sure that my 2nd line passed the first one. Now Dont make your lines to long because that can also throw off the flow of the text.

Example 3.

Everyone knows that I am The Best
I kill all the rest when I get my clips and then I put them to their chest

Now if you say that, You will be able to hear a break around "Put Them" because the flow has been thrown off by the stretched lines, You can usealy hear the break as Ive just Shown you. When you hear that you now know that you have to Shorten your 2nd line to bring the Flow Back.

That is the basic Idea of Correct Structure, Once you've masterd that you can then move on to your own style or form of structure wich most people will do as long as it contains the same idea of what ive shown you.

Remember that this is Text, Not an actual Song, If you are writing for an actual song that u are going to record, This Structure is not something you have to follow. I dont want you using this and relizing that it wont flow to your beat of the song. Audio Track Structure is based on what that patiuclar person sees as the right way to do so. Though the certin length of the lines will help when flowing to a matching BPM as most songs do, But thats not what this is about. Moving on to Chapter 5,

Chapter 5. Multies/Inner Multies

(Multi Syllable Rhyming) or multi to put it Simple.

The basic Idea of a Multie are words that Correspond with Eachother, And how many Words you may use to creat a Multie, The syllables always have to match each other. If not that they will not Correspond and it will not be Considered a Multi. Many people will use hyphens or other symbols to show where their multie is placed though most advaced Textcees do not do this. But I will show you so This way you understand where the multie is. Here is a 4 Word Multie

Example 1.

Ive alwayz been known to Spit-from-the-Dome
Fuckin with me, Then you'll Get Hit-With-The-Chrome

Multies do not always have to be that big, you can do a multie with as little as 2 words

Example 2.

Everyone Knows That Solos-Hot
Im sick with the Skill and This Homos-Not

It works the same, but the more complex the multie is, the better.

The most common mistake people make when using a multie is having the words not corresponding with one another.

Example 3.

Sittin all day with Time-to-Kill
People are lovin my shit cuz i Rhyme-ILL

That is NOT a multie, They do not Correspond with eachother. I do not know why some people will think it is. If you were ever in school then your teacher has taught you about Syllables, Probably by Clapping your hands together between every break in the word like "Syll a Ble". If you are really not sure if yours is in fact a multie, then just do that, Break the words down and see if they match with each other

Inner Multies or Multiple Rhyme Schemes, Wich ever you prefer. This is the same as a Regular Multie Except this is when you use 2 multies in one line, insted of the normal one multie in one line, This is what I Mean

Example 4.(Inner Multie)

Im Sicker-Then-Aidz When I Deliver-the-Rage

That is an Inner Multie, And with these, they do not always have to be placed right next to eachother, but you can if you want to. The more and more you Continue practicing these and elevating the more multies you can add and the more complex your rhymes get. You can Add as many as you want, though around 3 maybe 4 its possible to throw off your flow and Structure. Here is an another Example of a More Complex Inner Multie.

Example 5.

Im sicker-then-aidz When i Deliver-the-rage
Ill put a chick-in-her-place when i put my dick-on-her-face

Multies are a great way to improve your flow and a crowd pleaser most of the time. And As I said, The more you use them and Practice with them, the better you will become when using a multie.

Chapter 6. Punchlines

The Idea of a punchline is to make someone look at your verse and say "Daaaamn". Thats what your going for when using one. A Punchline is basically a joke being put into a Lyrical form. The same way you Tell a joke and at the very you deliver the Punchline. A lot of people will use punchlines incorrectly by just saying it without a set up, But like any joke there has to be a Set up. Here is an example of an Incorrect punchline.

Example 1.

this fool suckz and i cant stand ya
You coundlt 'Cum hard' if you 'OD'd on Viagra'

See, There is no Set up, Now if I word it like this

Example 2.

This fool is 'Weak' and i cant stand ya
You couldnt 'Cum hard' if u 'OD'd on Viagra'

Now that is a bad set up, but a set up none the less. Do you see it ? The 1st line contains content about him being 'Weak', So then when I talk about him not being able to "Come hard" it sets it up, Also I used wordplay in this as well but we will get to that later. An easy way to think of a punch line would be to use this lay out " You couldnt ____ If you ____" Just basicly fill it in with what you think will work best. Here is an example of what I am talking about.

Example 3.

You couldnt "Spit tight" if you "Rapped out ya Ass hole"

Simple but still a punch, And Punchlines are endless, and the more complex they are the better they work. There is no limit to how sick they can be, but they do take practice though more people are proned to getting the idea quicker.
And they dont always need to be set up like that, Thats just a simple way of doing a punch to start things off.

Chapter 7.Wordplay/Similies/Metaphors

1st off I am going to explain the diffrences because even some expirenced Textcees can not tell the three apart. I will give you the explantion first follwed by an example.

Wordplay - To put it in simple terms, It is a Play on Words, or a double meaning. Preaty Self Explanitory. An example of this would be

Example 1.

I got More 'Clips' Then 'Youtube'.

The play on words there is the word 'Clips'. I used it in Reference of me having 'Gun Clips', But By Adding 'Youtube' in the line I have just made wordplay. It is wordplay because 'Clips' is also a word used to describe your movies or videos. The two Sound the same but mean two diffrent things. Thats one example of wordplay.

Another Example of Wordplay is the separation of one word to make a new meaning, For Example

Example 2.

When 'Dis knee lands' It wont be 'Fun'

Now that Type of wordplay is more complex then the 1st one. Some of you may not even understand the play. You can see that in the Apostrophes The words 'Dis knee Lands' and 'Fun' are the two highlighted. If you can associate thoes two words together you should be able to figure it out. If you havnt got it yet, it is really quite simple. 'Dis knee lands' Is a Separation of the word "Disney Land" Wich is a theme Park, wich is why it is associated with the word 'Fun'. Like I said, This type of wordplay is more complex then others, and will take longer to master. Onto Similes.

Similes- are not wordplay, or Metaphors Though they are very easily confused because they have the basic ideas of Each other. But there is a Small Difference. When you use the words "Like" or "as" in your line then it is a Simile. An example.

Example 3.

Messin with me then you get Beat like my Dick

You see, It resembles Wordplay, but the moment you use the word "Like" or "As" then you have turned it into a Simile.

Now for Metaphors

Metaphors- Can also be confused with similes as well because they are alike but without the "Like" or "As", Metaphors are the more uncommon type of text play there is, simply becuase it is hard to use a Metaphor without saying "Like" or "As", As ive explained previously LOL. Metaphors are words you use to explain yourself in a more complex way and it also Incorparates Imagery shown in Chapter 3, It also Can give a deeper meaning and get people thinking. A Simple, less complex example of A Metaphor is this.

Example 4.

Your a 'dog', Always 'biting shit'
That is a Perfect example of a Real Metaphor.

That is all for the Wordplay/Similes/Metaphors But to improve your skills in this type of text, Here is in an Example on how to think of wordplay/Simlies Or Metaphors. Take a Word and and match others to it that mean the same thing or sound like that word and preaty soon you will get used to thinking this way.

Chapter 8. Personals/Disses

Now In any sort of Diss or Battle These two things are going to most likely be the Key Factors in your verse. The harder the Personal, The Harder The Fall. A Personal Is a Diss directed at a paticular person. A Personal can Consist of Many things. whether it be about the The Clothes your opponent Wears, His/Hers Girlfriend/Boyfriend, His Favorite Rapper, Anything. But the More Personal You get, The Harder it hits and better your verse will be. You should Never Hold back on a personal. If your opponents Mom Died, Then diss him about that. A way to also diss him is use some type of play on his name. For Example, My name Is "Solo" so many people have used a line like this.

Example 1.

Ill kill his whole family and really leave him Solo

You see how it is a Personaly against me becuase my name is Solo and it is also a play because They are saying they will leave me by myself, wich is another meaning for the word "Solo". Though it is a very played line. You will find that you will run into a lot of played lines during your first time around Battling or just using text verses. Its common, So don't Be ashamed.

Chapter 9. Rules Of Text Battling/Outro

Before I end The Chapters I will Go Over all The Useal Rules of Text Battling and What The Rules Mean.

1. No Biting - This just means all your work must be original, It should only come for you, So you can not take anything from any other Emcees/Textcees or Real Music Artist.

2. No Recycling - Some people say not to do this but there are a lot who do. This means That you can not take an old Verse or Line from a provious time and use it in the Current Battle.

3.No Verse Feeding - Verse feeding is when you play off what the other person says. Like if he says "Your Gay", you cant come back and say "No, your the one who is Gay"

4. No Fliping- This is basicly the same as biting, except insted of taking a line word for word you flip it and re-word the line or verse.

You will usealy see people set a Certin Bar or Line Length in the battle. On this site, 1 bar = 2 lines, so make sure to write enough in text battles.

Anyways I Hoped This Help, It took me a while So I hope you appriate It. Just keep Practcin like ive said and you will Elevate ~1~

On this site a bar is reffered to as 2 lines no matter how long some make them (complexity , conspiracy) and no matter how short (hazard).

And yeah its great , I made most use of the wordplay chapter.
You did forget including the definition of PLAYED LINES, which could be related to your note of "dont hold back on personals even if his mom died , diss him about it, UNLESS half the site already battled and dissed him about it"

pretty good explanations you fucked up on the inner multis though

and inner multis would be

i'm stabbing your grill i got cash from the pills so i count my chips
son i mastered the skill of stacking my bills none ya'll amount to shit

the stabbing your grill scheme being the inner multi, you can do them with pieces of schemes too like

i got hoes in spots close that cop dro from me
i let the glock go and rob foes if they watch froze lovely

and the got hoes scheme is the inner multi from the extended multi cop dro from me multi

and most similies are also wordplay, if they're double entrandras, if they're basic similies with no double meaning they're just similies
Respect this, specialist, black, testing this and get ya necklace jacked
Your after name scratched up off my guestlist, party freak
You the type of nigga that'll hardly speak unless you spoken to
You throw a cold screw but sober up when I'm approaching you
At the same time we postin two niggaz on that ass
Thats gonna do what they supposed to do the limelight
Snatched away from you because its my night
Killarm' blaze hotter than twilight, you better get ya lines right
Half of these crabs cant even rhyme right
[Killa Sin]
