An all-star cast is set to perform a tribute to the 1982 classic hit, “The Messageâ€, originally done by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.
Common, Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross and LL Cool J have been penciled in to perform the tribute during the 54th annual Grammy Awards nomination concert and will get a little extra help from Furious Five members Melle Mel and Scorpio. “The Messageâ€, which was recently selected by the National Academy of Recording Artist and Science to be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2012, is credited to being one of Hip Hop’s pioneer songs.
